Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of the practice of modified indwelling bubble technique on the spillover of intramuscular injection.Methods A randomized controlled trial was adopted to select 359 patients who were injected intramuscularly in the outpatient injection room,and were divided into three groups:120 cases in the experimental group,120 cases in the control group 1,and 119 cases in the control group 2.The experimental group used modified indwelling bubble technique,the control group 1 used indwelling bubble technique,and the control group 2 used conventional intramuscular injection.The spillover situation of the intramuscular injection of the three groups of patients was observed among these three groups.Results The drug extravasation rate of the modified indwelling bubble technique in the experimental group was 13.3%,which was lower than that of the control group 1 and the control group 2(χ2=10.847,P<0.05).Conclusion The improved indwelling bubble technique can reduce the spillover of intramuscular injections.The suitable position for the indwelling bubble technique is the lateral position.
