| Abstract: | Pheophorbide a is a clorophyll catabolite that recently has drawn the attention of several investigators for its potential in photodynamic therapy. In this review we summarize its photophysical properties, phototoxicity, cellular localization, biodistribution and PDT activity as a free or conjugated molecule. |
