Abstract:Objective To study the action of leptin and leptin receptor(Lep-R)on the development and progress of proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).Mthods Immunohistological technique was used to detect the expression of long receptor-leptin effecting receptor on epiretinal membranes(ERM)of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).ELISA technique was uesd to test the concentration of leptin in vitreous both in patients with PDR and normal people. Results Leptin receptor is expressed on ERM of patients with PDR,no statistic meaning on positive rate between the fifth and sixth phase,The concentration of leptin is significantly increased in vitreous in patients with PDR compared with normal people. The diference has statistic meaning. The diference of concentration of leptin between the fifth and sixth phase on patrents with PDR has no statistic meaning. Conclusions Leptin and its receptor are involved in the development and progress of DR and cause the developing of DR from non-proliferative phase to proliferative phase.
Keywords:Leptin  Leptin receptor  proliferatine diabetic retinopathy(PDR)
