Abstract: | We report a 37-year-old man who presented with continuous chest pain 6 weeks after implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantation. Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator interrogation indicated complete loss of capture even with maximum output. Chest radiography and echocardiography confirmed extracardiac location of lead tip. After lead repositioning in electrophysiology laboratory, acceptable pacing threshold was obtained with no complication. This report demonstrates a case of delayed cardiac perforation after implantation of the St Jude Medical Durata implantable cardioverter-defibrillator lead. |
