Study on the correlation and expression of hTERT protein and hTERTmRNA in gastric cancer

Objective To search for the clinicopathologic characteristics and the significance of the relationship in gastric cancer through studied in gastric expression of hTERT protein and hERTmRNA expression.Methods 10 cases of normal gastric tissues and 51 cases of gastric carcinoma the expression of hTERT protein and hTERTmRNA were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.Results The hTERT protein and hTERTmRNA gastric expression were significantly higher than in normal gastric mucosa.There was significantly correlated with location and age of patients that the positive rate of hTERT protein expression in gastric cancer patients.hTERTmRNA that hTERT protein positive gastric cancer specimens positive rate was 74.36%,and hTERTmRNA that hTERT protein negative gastric cancer specimens positive rate was 0%.Conclusion Occurrence of hTERT in gastric cancer and there is highly expressed in gastric cancer.hTERT protein expression shows positive correlation with hTERTmRNA in gastric cancer and its expression may be one of the hallmarks of gastric cancer.
