Application of the mobile transfusion management system in the outpatient Department

Objective To explore the method and effects of the mobile transfusion management system in the outpatient department. Methods The mobile transfusion management system could automatically generate the bar code for every patient. The nurses and patients both took a piece of har code paper. Before the transfusion, nurses would scan the bar code paper on the infusion bag with their handheld computers. And then,nurses could automotieally obtain the information of patients and check the information. During the process of transfusion ,patients only needed to tap the button corresponding with their seat numbers or on the bedside if they had any service needs, then the information would be transmitted to nurses＇ handheld computers. So the service could be provided timely. Results The application of the mobile transfusion management system made transfusion services convenient for nurses and patients and prevented the occurrence of errors and disputes. Conclusion The mobile transfusion management system is simple and suitable to apply in the outpatient department.
