Abstract: | Genetic polymorphisms in the fourth component of complement (C4) and in properdin factor B (BF) were investigated in 49 and 32 Japanese patients with palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), respectively. C4B2 was significantly increased in frequency, whereas no significant deviations were detected in BF compared with the controls. These results may indicate that complement polymorphisms are involved in the pathogenesis of PPP. |
