Abstract:tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) are non-coding RNA with a length of about 14-35 nt. tRFs are derived from precursor tRNA(pre-tRNA) or mature tRNA, and have the following main types: tRF-1, tRF-2, tRF-3, tRF-5 and i-tRF, which have the mechanisms of regulating gene expression and inhibiting protein translation in life process, and can also serve as biomarkers and therapeutic targets in tumor diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, the biological function of tRFs and its research progress in cancer were systematically reviewed.
