Clinical study of Oxaliplatin ( L- OHP) Plus Xeloda (Capecitabine) in Treatment of Gastric Carcinoma in Senile Patients

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and adverse of oxaliplation（L-OHP） plus xeloda（capecitabine） in the treatment of gastric carcinoma in senile patients.Methods From Jan 2003 to Dec 2006,78 patients were randomly divided into two groups：the treat group and the control group.The treat group was treated with L-OHP at a dose of 130 mg/m2 on day 1;Xeloda were given at a dose of 2 000 mg/m2 twice daily,on days 1～14 every 21 days.and the control group was treated with L-OHP at a dose of 130 mg/m2 on day 1;LV 200 mg iv 2 h d 1～5,5-Fu 250 mg iv,500 mg bonus 10 h,repeated every 3 week.All the patients were continuously treated for 4～6 cycles.Results The effective rate was 60.0% in the treatment group,and in the control group is 46.2%,with a significant difference.The 2ys survival rate in the treatment group was higher than the control（38.5% vs 19.2%）,and the MST（20 mom vs.17 mons）.The side effect of the treatment group was lower than the control group in vomiting and myelosupression.Conclusion L-OHP plus xeloda was a highly effective regimen and preferable to gastric carcinoma in senile patients.
