Endoscopic Submosal Dissection for Laterally Sreading Tumor in 25 Cases

Objective To assess the clinical value of endoscopic submucosal dissection（ESD） for the laterally sreading tumor.Methods The laterally sreading tumor were detected by chromoendoscopy,magnifying videoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonograpy,ESD was carried out with the needle knife for large laterally sreading tumor,dissecting the connective tissue of the submucosa beneath the lesion and confirmed by pathology.Results 25 laterally sreading tumor ranged from 2.5 to 6.0 cm and a mean resected size was 4.0 cm.The mean ESD procedure time was 75 min（ranged from 30 to 150 min）.Perforation occurred in 1 case during the dissection of the lesion,which was successfully closed with metal endoclip.After a follow-up with median time of 9.5 months（range 3～12 months）,none of the patients experienced residual recurrence of laterally sreading tumor.Conclusion ESD is an effective and safe endoscopic surgical procedure to resect laterally sreading tumor.
