Thrombolytic Treatment in Acute Pulmonary Embolism (A Report of 34 Cases)

Objective To analyze the diagnosis and treatment methods of acute pulmonary embolism.Methods 34 patients with pulmonary embolism received intravenous Urokinase thrombolysis treatment,among whom,26 diagnosed by pulmonary artery CT detection received Urokinase therapy intravenously at a dose of 1.5 million units/hour by a pump on the first day,and the dose of Urokinase was recduced to 50 million units/hour from the 2nd day to the 5th day,and in the end was 20 million units/hour from the 6th day to the 9th day.Warfarin was given to the patients with a dose of 2.5 mg once a day on the 10th day,and urokinase thrombolysis treatment was terminated.8 cases without pulmonary artery CT detection because of impairment of kidney function and allergy to contrast media were diagnosed by clinical manifestation and auxiliary examination,and they received Urokinase（50 million units/hour） intravenously from the 1st day to 5th day,with other similar treatment to the former.Results 26 patients with full thrombolysis treatment improved remarkably and the excellence rate was 100%.In 8 patients treated with low dose of urokinase,4 had excellent results,and 4 had effective results.No one had major organ hemorrhage.Conclusion Thrombolysis treatment is effective in the treatment of acute pulmonary embolism.
