The Correlation Analysis of TORCH Infection and Spontaneous Abortion

Objective To explore the relationship between TORCH infection and spontaneous abortion.Methods 90 patients with a history of spontaneous abortion（observation group） and 70 pregnant women with no history of spontaneous abortion（control group） were recruited by our hospital from July 2008 to June 2010.Specific IgG and IgM of TORCH pathogens were measured by ELISA,and the results were compared between the two groups.Results Fifty patients（55.6%） were TORCH positive in the observation group,while 7 cases（10.0%） were TORCH positive in the control group.The difference between two groups was significant（P0.05）.No case was infected by 2 or more than 2 pathogens.In the observation group,35 cases（38.9%） had active infection,while in the control group,only 4 cases（5.7%） had active infection.The difference between the two groups showed statistical significance（P0.01）.15 cases（16.7%） were formerly infected with TORCH in the observation group,while only 3 cases（4.3%） were formerly infected in the control group.The difference between the two groups showed statistical significance（P0.05）.Conclusion The TORCH infection is associated with spontaneous abortion and harmful levels of fetal and matrix infection.It is of great importance to detect TORCH pathogens before and during pregnancy for aristogenesis.
