The Clinical Effect Comparison between Tension-Free Hernioplasty and Bassini Herniorrhaphy

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of tension-free hernioplasty.Methods A total of 188 patients with inguinal hernia who were randomly divided into two groups： observation group（n=86） treated with tension-free hernioplasty and control group（n=102） treated with Bassini Herniorrhaphy.The operating time,hospital stay,postoperative recovery state and complication rates,and recurrence rates in both groups were evaluated.Results There was no significant difference in the mean operation time and postoperative body temperature between the two groups（P0.05）,but there was significant difference in postoperative out-of-bed activity time,hospital stay and incidence rate of postoperative pain between the two groups（P0.05,P0.01）.The incidences of postoperative abdominal distension and urinary retention,and recurrence in observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group（P0.01,P0.05）.Conclusion Tension-free hernioplasty is a safer and more efficient method with low complications and recurrence rates,when compared with Bassini berniorrhaphy.
