Value of serum progesterone, vascular endothelial growth factor and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A in diagnosis of early ectopic pregnancy

Objective： To discuss the value of serum progesterone（PRG）,vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF） and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A（PAPP-A） in diagnosis of early ectopic pregnancy.Methods： A total of 68 cases with normal intrauterine pregnancy,45 cases with abnormal intrauterine pregnancy,37 cases with ectopic pregnancy were selected.Levels of PRG,VEGF and PAPP-A were determined.Results： The PRG level was（23.82±9.27）,（7.23±2.21） and（6.72±2.99） in normal intrauterine pregnancy group,abnormal intrauterine pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy group,respectively;while the PAPP-A level was（5.68±1.59）、（4.22±1.68）、（3.94±1.36）in normal intrauterine pregnancy group,abnormal intrauterine pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy group,respectively.Compared with those of normal intrauterine pregnancy group,PRG and PAPP-A levels significantly decreased in abnormal intrauterine pregnancy group and ectopic pregnancy group（P0.05）,but no significant differences between abnormal intrauterine pregnancy group and ectopic pregnancy group（P0.05）.And VEGF level was（30.65±2.12）,（201.00±33.20） and（239.00±23.50） in three groups,respectively,with significant difference among groups（P0.05）.Conclusions： PRG and PAPP-A are valuable in diagnosis of abnormal pregnancy,but not including abnormal intrauterine pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy.The combination detect of PRG,PAPP-A and VEGF is helpful in accurate diagnosis.
