Abstract:Objective To understand the population structure,density and seasonal variation of the main vectors in main districts of Xuzhou,and provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of vectors.Methods Night-trap,light-trap,cage-trap and stick-trap methods were respectively employed to investigate rodents,adult mosquitoes,flies and cockroaches.Results From 2017 to 2019,a total of 37 rodents,belonging to 4 species,were trapped.Rattus norvegicus was the dominant species,accounting for 67.57%.The density peak appeared in the spring and autumn.The highest density of rodents took place in the villages.A total of 44331 adult mosquitoes,belonging to 5 species,were caught.The dominant species were Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Culex pipiens pallens,accounting for 97.90%.The mosquito density peak appeared from July to August,and the livestock shed held the highest density of mosquitoes.A total of 1356 flies,belonging to 8 species,were caged.The dominant species were Musca domestica and Muscina stabulans,accounting for 68.30%.The density peak appeared from June to August,and the farmers market held the highest fly density.A total of 2302 cockroaches,belonging to 2 species,were captured.Blattella germanica was the absolutely dominant species,accounting for 99.26%.The seasonal variation was not evident and the supermarkets held the highest density of cockroaches.Conclusion Rattus norvegicus,Rattus norvegicus,Culex tritaeniorhynchus and Musca domestica should be given more attention when the vector borne diseases prevention and control work is conducted in urban area of Xuzhou.Integrated measures with environmental management as the base should be taken to reduce the vector density.
