Effect of oxiracetam on cognitive impairment in patients with cerebral infarction

Objective To observe the effect of oxiracetam on cognitive impairment in patients with cerebral infarction.Methods A total of 38 patients with cerebral infarction were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods,with 19 cases in each group.The control group was treated with basic therapy,and the observation group was treated with basic therapy+oxiracetam.The therapeutic effect,mini-mental state examination(MMSE)score and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the MMSE score(26.55±6.12)points of the observation group was obviously higher than(19.79±5.69)points of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate 89.47%of the observation group was obviously higher than 57.89%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=4.886,P=0.027<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Application of oxiracetam on the basis of basic therapy shows obvious clinical effect for patients with cerebral infarction,which can improve cognitive impairment and therapeutic effect of patients,and will not cause serious adverse reactions,so it is worthy of promotion and application.
