Compared with lateral sinus floor elevation, trans-crestal sinus floor elevation has advantages of less invasiveness, shorter operation time and more acceptance among patients, which is widely used in clinical practice nowadays. Many factors may affect bone regeneration and implant success after lifting. Anatomic factors are one of the most important factors. This article will review and analyze main anatomic factors, such as remaining alveolar bone, maxillary sinus characteristics, maxillary sinus width, maxillary sinus morphology and etc., in order to provide reference for the application of trans-crestal sinus floor elevation in clinical practice.
