| Abstract: | t In order to estimate the incidence of hip fracture in Shenyang we collected the medical records from 35 hospitals that were able to receive and treat hip fracture. There were a total of 581 hip fractures in Shenyang in 1994. The crude incidence rate of hip fracture was 18. 18/100000. The mean incidence of hip fracture was 20. 35/100000 in male and 15. 94/100000 in female. There was a difference in the incidence between male and female ( P <0. 05). Trie mean age of patients at the time of hip fracture was 60. 29 15. 94(the median age 63). There was a sex difference in the type of hip fracture. Female had cervical to trochanteric (C/T) ratio of 3. 46 and male only 1. 74. The incidence of hip fracture was the highest in winter. |
