| Abstract: | Eight cases of tumor inside the brain stem have been reported in this paper. A-mong them, there was one case in the midbrain, four cases in the pons and three cases in the medulla oblongata,three of them were cystic. All the cases were excised microsurgically. Then, seven of them were the better in clinical symptom and one died from harmful breathing. The clinical manifestation of tumor inside the brain stem and CT and MR images were described. The different approach was chosen according to locations of tumors. Influence on recovery after the operation and prognostic factors were analysed. |
