Abstract: | The thesis of this article is that for family nursing to be effectively provided, a transcultural perspective must be incorporated. The underlying rationale for the integration of transcultural knowledge and values is presented, as well as an approach for integrating cultural aspects into family assessment and intervention. Black and Latino families are discussed in terms of their culturally-derived familial patterns. |
