| Abstract: | Recent efforts to resolve the political impasse over human embryonic stem cells (ESC) have generated proposals for obtaining ESC while avoiding the destruction of human embryos. This new chapter in the scientific and ethical debate provides an important opportunity to introduce additional ethical considerations to enhance public discourse. |
