Clinical Study of Ziyin Lifei Decoction in the Adjuvant Treatment of Elderly Patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Ziyin Lifei Decoction in the adjuvant treatment of elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.Methods Totally 92 elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University from July 2017 to July 2019 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,46 cases in each group.The patients in the two groups were given routine anti-tuberculosis treatment such as taking Rifapentine Capsules,Isoniazid Tablets,Pyrazinamide Tablets and Ethambutol Hydrochloride Capsules orally,on this basis,the patients in the observation group were treated with Ziyin Lifei Decoction.Both groups were continuously treated for three months.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 89.13%,which was significantly higher than 71.74%of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-8(IL-8)in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),the 6-minute walking distance(6 MWD)in the observation group was significantly longer than that in the control group,and the scores of walking frequency and quality of life in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was similar to that in the control group(15.22%vs.8.70%,P>0.05).Conclusion Ziyin Lifei Decoction is effective in the treatment of elderly patients with pulmonary tuberculosis,which can reduce the level of inflammatory factors,prolong 6 MWD,improve the walking frequency and the quality of life of patients.
