| Abstract: | Closed-circuit television (CCTV) magnifiers can now be prescribed more frequendy for persons with low vision because of the reducing costs of electronic components and the availability of rental or lease plans for those who cannot afford the initial cost. The performance of CCTV models which are more commonly used in New Zealand are compared in this paper. Magnification ranges, screen luminance, screen contrast and depth of field were measured. The ergonomic aspects of using hand-scanned or fixed video cameras are discussed. |
