Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of biofeedback training on motor recovery of hemiplegic patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods: One hundred and twenty-three patients with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into rehabilitation group(n=91) and control group(n=32).Patients in both groups have received conventional drug treatment.Patients in the rehabilitation group at 48 h after onset were evaluated and treated with biofeedback training.The patients' activities of daily living,disability level,quality of life were assessed by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS),Modified Rankin Scale(MRS) and Stroke Impact Scale(SIS) respectively before the treatment and at days 30,60 and 90 after biofeedback training.Results: Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the NIHSS,MRS,and SIS scores for the rehabilitation group and control group.After 30 days treatment,patients' conditions indicated by NIHSS,MRS,and SIS scores were improved relative to those measured before treatment.At days 30,60,90 after treatment,the patients in the rehabilitation group showeda better recovery than in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion: The early biofeedback training can improve the activities of daily living,and reduce disability and raise the life quality of patients with acute cerebral infarction.
