Abstract: | An analysis of results of studying the rate of emptying the stomach in 103 patients with duodenal ulcer has shown that evacuation was considerably quicker in patients in the vertical position than in those in horizontal position. It was slower in patients with subcompensated or decompensated stenosis. After vagotomy the emptying of the stomach took less time. In patients with a recurrent ulcer slower evacuation was noted but with the narrowing of the pyloroduodenal canal. |
