| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the effects of PDCA cycle on standardizing rational use of Chinese patent medicine in children of an orthopedic hospital.Methods The PDCA cycle mode was adopted to analyze the types of unreasonable prescription of Chinese patent medicine in children and the composition of drug use errors in a orthopedic hospital from January to June 2019,and the causes were analyzed.Then,formulated preventive measures,and evaluated the implementation effect.Results The percentage of unreasonable prescription of Chinese patent medicine in children reduced from 12.67%to 6.50%after the activity;the rate of the medication errors of Chinese patent medicine in children was reduced from 61.45%to 34.59%;the scores of the pharmacist competence increased from(19.62±2.10)to(25.69±1.65).Conclusion PDCA cycle improves the rational use of Chinese patent medicine in children of an orthopedic hospital,it is an effective means of pharmaceutical intervention management. |
