q-Space diffusion of myelin-deficient spinal cords.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The apparent water diffusion anisotropy in white matter (WM) of excised spinal cords of myelin-deficient (md) rats and their age-matched controls was studied by high-b-value q-space diffusion MRS and MRI at different diffusion times. Non-monoexponential signal decay was observed at long diffusion times. The mean displacements in the md spinal cords were found to be higher than those of the controls. The apparent anisotropy (AA) of the fast-diffusing component was found to decrease more dramatically with the increase in diffusion time for the md spinal cords as compared with controls, whereas the AA of the slow-diffusing component in the controls was found to increase with the increase in diffusion time while that of the md cords decreased with the increase in diffusion time. When diffusion MRI was performed, similar diffusion anisotropy was extracted for the md and control spinal cords at diffusion times of 22 and 50 ms. Only at a diffusion time of about 200 ms was a significant difference obtained in the AA of the two groups. This originates from the much smaller increase in the mean displacement perpendicular to the fiber direction in the control group vs. the md group when the diffusion time was increased.  相似文献

Recent studies suggest that abnormalities occur at the lipid level in malignant hyperthermia susceptible humans and pigs. To test this hypothesis, we first investigated the physical state of plasma membranes of lymphocytes isolated from normal and malignant hyperthermia susceptible swine. In halothane-challenged pigs, malignant hyperthermia susceptibility was also assessed by ryanodine binding assay on purified sarcoplasmic reticulum membranes. The results clearly show that plasma membrane of lymphocytes from malignant hyperthermic pigs are significantly more fluid than controls. We then attempted to apply the same methodology to lymphocytes prepared from human patients previously diagnosed by the halothane and caffeine contracture test. In that case, there was no clear relationship between malignant hyperthermia susceptibility and the fluidity state of lymphocyte plasma membranes.  相似文献

Summary The goal of this study was to elucidate the causes why the proarrhythmic activity of sodium channel blocking drugs is enhanced during the post-infarction period. Therefore, we studied the effects of a reduction in sodium conductance on the action potential duration and its dispersion in a simulated array of 1600 ventricular myocytes. Cardiac tissue is known to possess anisotropic properties with regard to the intercellular electrical resistance (R). Infarction as well as aging causes deposition of collagen in the cardiac tissue, thereby inducing zones of high electrical resistance leading to a non-uniform anisotropy (Spach et al., Circ Res 62811, 1988). For our study an array of 40*40 ventricular myocytes was simulated using Beeler-Reuter-algorithms. Physical tissue properties were assumed to be either a) uniform anisotropic (i.e., all longitudinal R=5000 cm, all transversal R=20000 cm; UA) or b) non-uniform anisotropic (i.e., transversal R for the inner 10*10 cells was set to 1010 cm; NUA). Mean action potential duration (APD) was increased under UA (287 ms, dispersion: 0,8 ms) when compared to NUA (285 ms, disp.: 3,2 ms). Assuming a 25% decrease in sodium conductance, we found the total activation time (TAT) to be increased (from 99 to 139 ms), indicating slowing of conduction, APD to be shortened (from 287 to 259 ms), and the APD-dispersion to be increased (from 0.8 to 29 ms) in UA. These changes were more pronounced in the case of NUA: increase in TAT from 103 to 150 ms, APD-shortening from 285 to 214 ms and a marked increase in APD-Dispersion from 3.2 to 53 ms). From these results it is concluded that a) the effects of a reduced sodium conductance are more pronounced in NUA tissue, and b) that the resulting increase in dispersion may provoke arrhythmia by local differences in APD.This may be one of the mechanisms underlying the increased proarrhythmic risk of class I antiarrhythmic drugs in the postinfarction period.  相似文献

Magnesium sheet metal alloys offer a deformation asymmetry, which is strongly related to grain size and texture. In order to predict deformation behavior as well as to provide methods to eliminate anisotropy and yield asymmetry, a lot of effort is invested in studying the tension–compression asymmetry of magnesium alloys. However, only a few studies deal with the characterization of the yield asymmetry of magnesium wrought alloys, especially Ca-containing alloys, related to temperature and strain. In this study, the orthotropic behavior of a twin-roll-cast, homogenized, rolled and finish-annealed Mg-2Zn-1Al-0.3Ca (ZAX210) magnesium alloy was investigated by tensile testing at room temperature, 150 °C and 250 °C. The r-values were determined and the Hill’48 yield criterion was used for the constitutive formulation of the plastic yielding and deformation. The yield loci calculated using Mises and Hill’48 as well as the determined r-values reveal an almost isotropic behavior of the ZAX210 alloy. The r-value increases with increasing logarithmic strain. At 0.16 logarithmic strain the r-values at room temperature vary between 1 (0°) and 1.5 (45° and 90°). At higher temperatures (250 °C), r-values close to 1 at all tested directions are attained. The enhanced yield asymmetry can be attributed to the weaker basal texture that arises during hot rolling and final annealing of the twin-roll-cast ZAX210 magnesium alloy. In comparison to AZ31, the ZAX210 alloy shows a yield behavior close to transversal isotropy. Finally, responsible mechanisms for this behavior are discussed.  相似文献

Magnetic perovskite films have promising properties for use in energy-efficient spintronic devices and magnetic refrigeration. Here, an epitaxial ferromagnetic La0.67Ba0.33Mn0.95Ti0.05O3 (LBMTO-5) thin film was grown on SrTiO3(001) single crystal substrate by pulsed laser deposition. High-resolution X-ray diffraction proved the high crystallinity of the film with tetragonal symmetry. The magnetic, magnetocaloric and magnetoresistance properties at different directions of the applied magnetic field with respect to the ab plane of the film were investigated. An in-plane uni-axial magnetic anisotropy was evidenced. The LBMTO-5 epilayer exhibits a second-order ferromagnetic-paramagnetic phase transition around 234 K together with a metal–semiconductor transition close to this Curie temperature (TC). The magnetic entropy variation under 5 T induction of a magnetic field applied parallel to the film surface reaches a maximum of 17.27 mJ/cm3 K. The relative cooling power is 1400 mJ/cm3 K (53% of the reference value reported for bulk Gd) for the same applied magnetic field. Giant magnetoresistance of about 82% under 5 T is obtained at a temperature close to TC. Defined as the difference between specific resistivity obtained under 5 T with the current flowing along the magnetic easy axis and the magnetic field oriented transversally to the current, parallel and perpendicular to the sample plane, respectively, the in-plane magneto-resistance anisotropy in 5 T is about 9% near the TC.  相似文献

目的 应用扩散张量成像(diffusion tensor imaging,DTI)技术和确定性追踪全脑分析法评估双眼屈光不正弱视儿童脑白质神经纤维结构的异常,并分析其与视力的相关性.方法 收集中南大学湘雅二医院眼科14例临床确诊双眼屈光不正性弱视患儿为试验组,14例正常儿童为对照组.所有儿童均采用磁共振成像系统进行扫描,行常规MRI检查、3DTlWI扫描,及平面回波序列(EPI)扫描得到扩散加权成像.运用确定性追踪法对所有DTI图像进行定量分析,将研究组部分各向异性(fractional anisotropy,FA)值、纤维束体积及纤维束数目显著改变的纤维束作为感兴趣区,与视力之间作相关性分析.结果 试验组相比对照组在右侧腹侧通路和背侧通路、右侧视辐射及胼胝体FA值下降,双侧腹侧通路和背侧通路、左侧视辐射、胼胝体体部纤维束体积相比对照组下降,右侧背侧通路纤维束数目相比对照组减少.FA值、纤维束数目和纤维束体积之间,FA值与视力的回归系数最大,纤维束数目和纤维束体积回归系数小,右侧视辐射、右侧腹侧通路及胼胝体体部的FA值与视力的相关系数分别为0.486、0.534和0.456,右侧腹侧通路FA值与视力的相关系数最大.结论 屈光不正性弱视患者双侧视辐射、双侧腹侧背侧通路及胼胝体体部白质纤维束结构均有异常,可导致屈光不正弱视患者物体识别、空间位置及运动识别能力减退.右侧腹侧通路FA值对视力的影响最大.  相似文献

Childhood trauma (CT) may influence brain white matter microstructure; however, few studies have examined the differential impact of distinct CT types on white matter microstructure in psychiatrically healthy adults living in a developing country. In adults without significant medical or psychiatric disorders, we investigated the association(s) between CT, including abuse and neglect, and fractional anisotropy (FA) of limbic tracts previously shown to be associated with CT. Participants underwent diffusion tensor imaging and completed the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire. Multivariate analysis of variance models were used to test the effects of total overall CT, as well as CT subtypes, on FA in six fronto-limbic tracts, adjusting for age, sex, and educational level. The final sample included 69 adults (age 47 ± 17 years; 70% female). Overall, CT had a significant main effect on FA for tracts of interest (p < .001). Greater CT severity was associated with lower FA for the bilateral and left stria terminalis (uncorrected) as well as the bilateral, left, and right anterior limb of the internal capsule (ALIC; corrected). Exposure to total non-violent/deprivational trauma specifically was associated with lower FA of the bilateral, left, and right ALIC, suggesting that distinct types of CT are associated with differential white matter changes in apparently healthy adults. The ALIC predominantly carries fibers connecting the thalamus with prefrontal cortical regions. Microstructural alterations in the ALIC may be associated with functional brain changes, which may be adaptive or increase the risk of accelerated age-related cognitive decline, maladaptive behaviors, and subsyndromal psychiatric symptoms.  相似文献

The ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in the frequency range of 0.5 to 12.5 GHz has been investigated as a function of external magnetic field for rapidly quenched Fe3Co67Cr3Si15B12 amorphous ribbons with different features of the effective magnetic anisotropy. Three states of the ribbons were considered: as-quenched without any treatment; after relaxation annealing without stress at the temperature of 350 °C during 1 h; and after annealing under specific stress of 230 MPa at the temperature of 350 °C during 1 h. For FMR measurements, we adapted a technique previously proposed and tested for the case of microwires. Here, amorphous ribbons were studied using the sample holder based on a commercial SMA connector. On the basis of the measurements of the reflection coefficient S11, the total impedance including its real and imaginary components was determined to be in the frequency range of 0.5 to 12.5 GHz. In order to confirm the validity of the proposed technique, FMR was also measured by the certified cavity perturbation technique using a commercial Bruker spectrometer operating at X-band frequency of 9.39 GHz. As part of the characterization of the ribbons used for microwave measurements, comparative analysis was performed of X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, inductive magnetic hysteresis loops, vibrating sample magnetometry, magneto-optical Kerr effect (including magnetic domains) and magnetoimpedance data for of all samples.  相似文献

The structural properties, elastic anisotropy, electronic structures and work function of D022-type Al3TM (TM = Sc, Ti, V, Y, Zr, Nb, La, Hf, Ta) are studied using the first-principles calculations. The results indicate that the obtained formation enthalpy and cohesive energy of these compounds are in accordance with the other calculated values. It is found that the Al3Zr is the most thermodynamic stable compound. The mechanical property indexes, such as elastic constants, bulk modulus, shear modulus, Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and Vickers hardness are systematically explored. Moreover, the calculated universal anisotropic index, percent anisotropy and shear anisotropic factors of D022-type Al3TM are analyzed carefully. It demonstrates that the shear modulus anisotropy of Al3La is the strongest, while that of Al3Ta is the weakest. In particular, the density of states at Fermi level is not zero, suggesting that these phases have metal properties and electrical conductivity. More importantly, the mechanisms of correlation between hardness and Young’s modulus are further explained by the work function. Finally, the experimental design proves that D022-Al3Ta has an excellent strengthening effect.  相似文献
