Spasmolytic action of the essential oil of Achillea ageratum L. in rats

The spasmolytic activity of Achillea ageratum L. essential oil in isolated rat duodenum has been in estigated. The essential oil was found to present a marked spasmolytic activity against acetylcholine and BaCl₂ via a non-competitive type of antagonism.     

Analgesic,antipyretic and antiinflammatory effects of Achillea ageratum

The aqueous and methanol extracts of Achillea ageratum L. (Asteraceae) have been evaluated for analgesic, antipyretic and antiinflammatory properties in mice and rats in several experimental models. The aqueous extract exhibited significant activity in the analgesic and antiinflammatory assays but was unable to reduce hyperthermia. Moreover, the methanol extract exerted effects in three pharmacological actions. The phytochemical investigation of this latter extract revealed the presence of flavonic compounds: luteolin, quercetin and 7-O-β-luteolin. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

开胃进食汤超微配方颗粒对正常小鼠胃肠动力的影响

目的研究开胃进食汤超微配方颗粒对正常小鼠胃排空、小肠推进活动的影响。方法采用开胃进食汤传统汤剂和健胃消食片对照,观察开胃进食汤超微配方的等倍、1/2倍和1/4倍不同剂量对小鼠胃内甲基橙残留率和小肠质量、小肠碳末推进率的影响。结果开胃进食汤超微配方颗粒各组胃内甲基橙残留率较正常组低(P<0.05,P<0.01),等倍和1/2倍剂量组小肠碳末推进率较正常组高(P<0.05,P<0.01),1/2倍剂量组小肠质量较正常组高(P<0.05),而开胃进食汤传统汤剂组与正常组比较,以上指标无差异。结论开胃进食汤超微配方颗粒对正常小鼠具有促进胃肠动力作用,且以1/2倍剂量为优;超微配方颗粒制剂可能与诸相关药物如藿香、木香、丁香等药物挥发油成分作用的关系,从而提高了其传统方剂的药理作用。     

Cytostatic activity of Achillea ageratum L.

The cytostatic activity of a chloroform extract and two isolated compounds from Achillea ageratum L. (Asteraceae) was determined in vitro against Hep-2 and McCoy cells. The chloroform extract exhibited a high degree of growth inhibition compared with the values obtained with the 6-mercaptopurine (positive control) against both cultures. Stigmasterol and beta-sitosterol, isolated from the chloroform extract, showed a high degree of growth inhibition.
