OTC drug advertising in Japan: the role of need for cognition and celebrity endorser credibility

Abstract

This research explores how the level of consumers’ need for cognition (NFC) is associated with celebrity endorser credibility and examines its effects on advertising-related attitudes. A 3 (endorser types: actor/actress, athlete, TV personality/talent) × 2 (endorser’s gender) factorial experiment with 435 Japanese consumers was conducted. Concerning Japanese OTC drug advertising, lower NFC individuals perceived celebrity endorsers as more credible in comparison to higher NFC individuals. The main effects of NFC and endorser type on endorser credibility existed; however, no interaction between the two variables was found. The endorser type had an influence on attitudes toward ads and the advertised brand.     

Suicide substrate reaction-diffusion equations: Varying the source

The suicide substrate reaction is a model for certain enzyme-inhibitingdrugs. This reaction system is examined assuming that the substratediffuses freely while the enzyme remains fixed. Two sets ofinitial and boundary conditions are examined: one modellingan instantaneous point source, akin to an injection of substrate,the other, a continuous point source, akin to a continuing influx,or intravenous drip, of substrate. The quasi-steady-state assumptionis applied to obtain analytical solutions for a limited parameterspace. Finally, further applications of numerical and analyticalexperimentation on pharmaceutical mechanisms are described.

有机氮源对红霉素发酵影响的具体分析

红色糖多孢菌的摇瓶培养基中使用不同有机氮源时红霉素的效价明显不同。通过对不同有机氮源所含营养成分的逐步回归分析,我们得到有机氮源中的苏氨酸为影响红霉素效价的主要因子。最后向对照培养基中添加苏氨酸,则使红霉素的效价比对照培养基提高了22.85%。     

吉林192Ir放射事故患者局部急性放射损伤病理改变

目的观察一例大剂量全身极不均匀照射急性放射损伤患者数处局部病理改变。方法病理常规切片染色，光镜检查。结果吸收剂量右下肢为３７３８Ｇｙ，左手掌为８３０Ｇｙ，于照射后第８天行右下肢、左前臂截肢术。右手、左膝照射剂量相对较小但难以准确估计，红斑、水肿、水疱、溃疡出现相对较晚，于第５５天行右手指、左膝清创植皮术。镜下：右小腿局部皮肤和皮肤附属器官、皮下组织和骨胳肌广泛地坏死和弥漫性出血，但真皮中的立毛肌尚存；左手指、手掌皮肤表皮细胞空泡变性、坏死，并形成大小不一的囊泡，致使表皮与真皮分离，真皮弥漫性出血、中性粒细胞浸润，汗腺上皮细胞变性、坏死，皮下组织内弥漫性出血，少数脂肪细胞坏死。胫骨、腓骨上端和股骨、桡骨、尺骨下端处骨髓腔内造血组织各系细胞均消失。左膝、右手拇指、食指、中指皮肤示急性放射性溃疡。结论大剂量照射导致的急性放射损伤造成大面积、深达肌肉的软组织坏死及骨髓造血细胞消失。     

中国饮用水源水中藻类卫生标准的研究

为制定饮用水源中藻类限值 ,结合国内外文献调查研究毒理学试验和现场生态学调查资料 ,根据世界卫生组织 (WHO)和卫生部推荐的饮用水中微囊藻毒素MC -LR的限值、藻类生物量和MC -LR浓度关系以及毒理学实验所得到的藻类的无作用浓度而制定饮用水源中藻类限值。结果显示 ,推荐饮用水源中藻类三级限值分别为 :安全限值 :1.0× 10 4个 升 ;警戒限值 :2 .1× 10 5个 升 ;危险限值 :1.2× 10 6 个 升。提示饮用水源中藻类限值在日常工作中有显著意义和可行性     

A Neuromagnetic Study of the Functional Organization of the Sensorimotor Cortex

Movement-related neuromagnetic fields from eight healthy human subjects were investigated in a Bereitschaftspotential paradigm. The three conditions studied were right-sided mouth, index finger and foot movement. The neuromagnetic field patterns corresponding to the motor field and the movement-evoked field I were analysed using a moving dipole model. For both components a somatotopic organization was found: the estimated dipole locations for the mouth were more lateral and those for the foot more medial than the estimated dipole positions for the index finger movement. With regard to possible clinical applications, e.g. non-invasive mapping of the sensorimotor cortex and studies of plasticity of the motor function, the present results suggest that the investigation of movement-evoked field I for the index finger condition is most likely to yield further results.
