目的:探讨听性脑干反应(ABR)和40 Hz听觉相关电位(40Hz AERP)测试的相关性及对聋儿听力评估的重要性。方法:对401例6岁以下聋儿行ABR和40Hz AERP测试并比较。结果:ABR测试无反应者为589耳(73.4%),40 Hz AERP测试无反应者为311耳(19.4%),前者明显高于后者(P<0.01)。两种测试中有残余听力的耳数随阈值的升高,检出率亦升高,结论:ABR测试只反映高频听阈,无反应率高,而40 Hz AERP可显示低、中频的听阈,无反应率低。两种测试应同时进行,可全面了解聋儿的听力损失情况。同时因聋儿多为重度聋,更应及早选配助听器。  相似文献

Abstract

This study, using positron emission tomography, investigates the cortical activation generated by auditory stimulation in two congenitally blind cochlear implant users. In the patient with a relatively short history of deafness, activity increased in both auditory cortices and fell in the visual cortices. The patient with a longer period of deafness had greater activation of the visual cortices than the auditory cortices. A similar pattern of activity was seen when this patient subsequently had a second cochlear implant inserted into the opposite ear. The neural pathways formed after the restoration of auditory input in the congenitally blind can activate either the auditory or visual cortices. We suggest that the visual cortical activation demonstrated is of functional significance. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A low-frequency acoustic stimulus was applied to the right mastoid, the right acromion and the distal phalanx of the right index finger in 10 healthy and 10 profoundly deaf subjects. The stimulus, which had a frequency of 80-120 Hz, was delivered by means of a special vibrating system, constructed for this purpose. The frequency-following response (FFR) was recorded. In all the healthy subjects, FFR appeared with a latency of about 6 ms from the stimulus onset and with a peak-to-peak amplitude of 0.3-1.2 μV. Also, in all the deaf subjects, a change in bioelectrical activity was recorded, which reproduced the stimulus frequency at a latency of about 6 ms and with a peak-to-peak amplitude of 0.3-1.2 μV. Afferent pathways by which the stimulus could be transmitted in deaf subjects are discussed.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Many synesthetes experience colors when viewing letters or digits. We document, for the first time, an analogous phenomenon among users of signed languages who showed color synesthesia for fingerspelled letters and signed numerals. Four synesthetes experienced colors when they viewed manual letters and numerals (in two cases, colors were subjectively projected on to the hands). There was a correspondence between the colors experienced for written graphemes and their manual counterparts, suggesting that the development of these two types of synesthesia is interdependent despite the fact that these systems are superficially distinct and rely on different perceptual recognition mechanisms in the brain.  相似文献

The influence of the mother tongue on vowel productions in infancy is different for deaf and hearing babies. Audio material of five hearing and five deaf infants acquiring Dutch was collected monthly from month 5–18, and at 24 months. Fifty unlabelled utterances were digitized for each recording. This study focused on developmental paths in vowel productions. The applied automated band filtering analysis is F0‐independent and results in a spectral envelope, sampled in a 40‐dimensional space. Via a Principal Component Analysis (PCA, data reduction), a vowel space for normally hearing 2‐year‐olds was constructed, enabling the projection of the individual developmental data of the infants in a two‐dimensional reference plane. Comparison of the results for the hearing and the deaf infants over 2 years indicates individual as well as group differences. The amount of hearing loss as well as the communication styles seem to be important factors in explaining differences between the infant categories.  相似文献

Stereocilia are specialized actin-filled, finger-like processes arrayed in rows of graded heights to form a crescent or W-shape on the apical surface of sensory hair cells. The stereocilia are deflected by the vibration of sound, which opens transduction channels and allows an influx of ions to depolarize the hair cell, in turn triggering synaptic activity. The specialized morphology and organization of the stereocilia bundle is crucial in the process of sensory transduction in the inner ear. However, we know little about the development of stereocilia in the mouse and few molecules that are involved in stereocilia maturation are known. We describe here a new mouse mutant with abnormal stereocilia development. The Tasmanian devil (tde) mouse mutation arose by insertional mutagenesis and has been mapped to the middle of chromosome 5. Homozygotes show head-tossing and circling and have raised thresholds for cochlear nerve responses to sound. The gross morphology of the inner ear was normal, but the stereocilia of cochlear and vestibular hair cells are abnormally thin, and they become progressively disorganized with increasing age. Ultimately, the hair cells die. This is the first report of a mutant showing thin stereocilia. The association of thin stereocilia with cochlear dysfunction emphasizes the critical role of stereocilia in auditory transduction, and the discovery of the Tasmanian devil mutant provides a resource for the identification of an essential molecule in hair cell function.  相似文献
