In the initial stages of tumor formation, overexpression of integrins identifying the RGD sequence (Arg-Gly-Asp) is observed. The aim of the present study was the synthesis and labeling of two novel RGD derivatives, via the precursor [99mTc(H2O)3(CO)3]+, as well as the radiochemical and radiopharmacological evaluation of the labeled products. The labeling led to the formation of a single product in each case (>98%), with noteworthy in vitro stability, fast blood clearance and elimination by the hepatobiliary and the urinary systems. 相似文献

A total of 872 children aged up to 14 years, who were diagnosed withleukemia in Greece during the decade 1980-89, were allocated by place ofresidence to the 601 administrative districts of the country. Evaluation ofspatial clustering was done using the Potthoff-Whittinghill method, whichvalidly assesses heterogeneity of leukemia risk among districts with variableexpected numbers of cases. There was highly significant evidence for spatialclustering occurring particularly among children living in urban and, to alesser extent, semi-urban areas. The evidence was stronger for childrenyounger than 10 years old, applied also to children in different five-yearage groups, and persisted when cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia wereanalyzed separately. These findings provide support to the hypothesis thatlocalized environmental exposures could contribute to the etiology ofchildhood leukemia, but they cannot distinguish between exposures of physicalor chemical nature, nor can they exclude socially conditioned patterns ofexposure to infectious agents. 相似文献

The discovery of new compounds that are able to inhibit the growth of Burkholderia cenocepacia is of primary importance for cystic fibrosis patients. Here, the mechanism of resistance to a new pyridine derivative already shown to be effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and to have good activity toward B. cenocepacia was investigated. Limb/digit amputation is a common event in humans caused by trauma, medical illness, or surgery. Although the loss of a digit is not lethal, it affects quality of life and imposes high costs on amputees. In recent years, the increasing interest in limb regeneration has led to enhanced scientific knowledge. However, the limited ability to develop functional limb regeneration in the clinical setting suggests that a challenging issue remains in limb regeneration. Recently, the emergence of regenerative engineering is a promising field to address this challenge and close the gap between science and clinical applications. Cell signalling and molecular mechanisms involved in the limb regeneration process have been extensively studied; however, there is still insufficient data on cell therapy and tissue engineering for limb regeneration. In this review, we intend to focus on therapeutic approaches for limb regeneration that are closely related to gene, immune, and stem cell therapies, as well as tissue engineering approaches that take into consideration the peculiar developmental properties of the limbs. In addition, we attempt to identify the challenges of these strategies for limb regeneration studies in terms of clinical settings and as a road map to accomplish the goal of functional human limb regeneration. 相似文献

Although numerous studies have documented outbreaks of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) possessing various carbapenemases, reports on outbreaks due to CRKP possessing extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) and/or AmpCs with porin lesions have been limited. Here, we describe an outbreak caused by an ertapenem-resistant, CTX-M-15-producing clonal K. pneumoniae strain expressing an OmpK36 porin variant. From May 2012 to November 2012, 37 ertapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae isolates phenotypically negative for carbapenemase production were recovered from 19 patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a Greek hospital. The isolates were either susceptible or intermediate to other carbapenems and resistant to all remaining β-lactams but cefotetan. Phenotypic and molecular analysis revealed the presence in all isolates of the blaCTX-M-15 gene on a conjugative 100-kb plasmid, disruption in the expression of the ompK35 gene, and the production of an Ompk36 porin variant. The index case was a patient admitted from another hospital. Active surveillance upon admission and on a weekly basis was immediately initiated; environmental samples were also periodically tested. Molecular typing showed that all clinical isolates as well as two ertapenem-resistant environmental K. pneumoniae isolates belonged to the same clonal type and were assigned to multilocus sequence typing (MLST) sequence type 101 (ST101). As all colonized/infected patients were hospitalized during overlapping periods, cross-infection was considered the main route for the dissemination of the outbreak strain. Despite reinforcement of infection control measures and active surveillance, the outbreak lasted approximately 7 months.
