Peculiarities of face regional hemodynamics in treatment of acute purulent jaw odontogenic periostitis

53 patients were under observation with acute purulent jaw odontogenic periostitis. In 27 out of them after operation as drainage material strips of napkin were used, containing as the active components metronidazol, dimexide and sodium alginate. Curative process efficacy evaluation was done according to the data of hemodynamic study (determination of the artery's diameter, maximal systolic speed and index of circulatory resistance) of the magistral face arteries. It was established that in the group of patients with rational treatment blood circulation in face arterial vessels was restored most actively than in the control group with the use of traditional treatment scheme.     

Syntheses of unsaturated polyesters containing betulinol moieties

Syntheses of polymers on the basis of betulinol ( 1 ), a pentacyclic triterpene glycol obtained from the birch bark, were investigated. Catalytic polyesterification of 1 with terephthaloyl chloride in various solvents gave only oligomers. Kinetic investigations indicated a very low activity of the hydroxyl groups of 1 . Chemical modification of betulinol revealed the possibility of a successful addition of its OH-groups to anhydrides at high-temperature. Unsaturated polyesters, based on maleic anhydride, betulinol and acyclic glycols, were synthesized and investigated. Samples of betulinol-containing polyesters cured by copolymerization with styrene show improved water and chemical resistance.     

Relation between morphometric criteria of the functional status of the arterial and microcirculatory bed of the myocardium in acute coronary insufficiency and the type of blood supply

Criteria of myocardial microcirculatory bed functional state under 3 types of blood supply of the heart with non-stenotic and stenotic coronary sclerosis were studied by the stereomorphometric method on 51 autopsies. These were cases of sudden death of acute coronary failure (men from 41 to 70 years old). Different degrees of total and specific volume decrease was found to be in correlation with the decrease in the quantitative parameters of "cardiomyocyte-capillary system". The specific features of interrelationship between parenchyma and capillaries under different types of blood supply show the variants of microcirculatory compensatory potential and explain the reasons for more frequent deaths in the extreme types. There was a direct relationship between the progressive coronary artery atherosclerosis, structure of microarterial bed rearrangement, myocardial circulation and the type of blood supply.     

Prognostic value of structural-functional characteristics of skin melanoma

Surgical material is investigated. Morphometric criteria of ultrastructural atypia are considered as a possible prognostic factor of melanoma lymphogenic metastases. This allows detection of skin melanoma with high metastatic potential.
