Mixed form of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection: apropos of a case

As opposed to partial anomalous of pulmonary venous connection, it is frequent and benigns, the total anomalous of pulmonary venous connection is extremely rare and more serious. The anomalous is severe because all pulmonary venous connection, instead of left heart it go to the right heart. The age of diagnosis is closely tied up anatomics characteristics, so various clinical cases are present. The TAPVC of new born is a surgical emergency, especially where it's block up and release++ cardiorespiratory distress syndrome secondary to OAP. For great children, the total anomlous of pulmonary venous connection can be assumed to a case of atrial septal defect. This study intend to clear up this clinical and anatomical polymorphism and to report an exceptional-form of this congenital anomaly which is mixed total anomalous of pulmonary venous connection.     

Pheochromocytoma. Report of 10 cases

We report 10 cases of adrenal pheochromocytoma seen over a period 15-years. A female predominance was noted (8 women/2 men). Patients were aged between 16-46 years with a mean of 34 years. Clinical manifestations consisted of hypertension observed in all cases, with vasomotor symptoms (90%). Time to consultation was prolonged (mean: 23 months). CT scan performed in 7 cases showed pheochromocytoma in all cases, located on the right side in 6 cases, while one pheochromocytoma was located in Zukerkandal organ. All patients were operated via anterior approach and adrenalectomy was performed. A favourable course was observed in 90% of cases with normalisation blood pressure. One death was noted. Histological examination showed no malignancy in all cases.     

Luxation traumatique négligée de la tête radiale chez l’adulte (à propos d’un cas et revue de la littérature)

The authors report the case of an isolated dislocation of the head radial road neglected during 2 months at a 28-year-old patient further to a fall on the right hand bends in extension and hyperpronation of the front arm. The treatment consisted of a bloody reduction of the head radial road by extern way of the elbow with one temporary embrochage pen radial road and a suture of the previous annular ligament by point's transosseux paletot with plastered brachio-antébrachiopalmaire fixed asset in 100° of flexion. For to remind the diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties of this pathology, we propose the study of an observation analyzed in the review of the literature.     

About consistency of Solid's solubility data in supercritical CO2 and some thermodynamic properties estimation

In chemical industry, usual solvents are being replaced by supercritical fluids. Last few years, extraction by these environmentally benign solvents has had much attention and now is considered as the newest separation technology. However, developing new applications and improving existing ones is based on a set of thermodynamic and physical properties of pure solutes related to phase equilibrium for which experimental values cannot be found and consequently, there is an increase need for accurate estimates of these properties. This paper is interested firstly to a thermodynamic property which is the Krichevskii parameter and secondly to a thermophysical one which is the sublimation pressure. First parameter is considered as a governor of thermodynamic properties in binary dilute mixtures near the solvent's critical point and can be calculated from some rigorous relationships and in this paper a review and a new way for its estimation are presented based on consistency of solid's solubility data in supercritical fluids and dilute solution theory. Second parameter is considered as the predominant influencer on solubility in supercritical fluids and unavailability of its experimental values presents an obstacle to thermodynamic modeling of solubility data. For this reason and as a second step, in this paper we present a new manner for its estimation. Obtained results are relevant, very promising for each considered property and the methodology can be applied for other solutes with more complex structures as Pharmaceuticals (antibiotics, drugs, anti-inflammatories …), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHC) and dyestuffs.
