Within 5 weeks in 2021, B.1.1.7 became the dominant severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 lineage at an outpatient testing site in Berlin, Germany. Compared with outpatients with wild-type virus infection, patients with B.1.1.7 had similar cycle threshold values, more frequent sore throat and travel history, and less frequent anosmia/ageusia.  相似文献

Hormone replacement therapy and venous thromboembolism   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Venous thromboemboembolism is a multigenic and a multifactorial disease. Several genetic risk factors have been identified: antithrombin, protein C and protein S deficiencies, and molecular defects in factor V gene (factor V Leiden) or factor II gene (G 20210A transition). Retrospective and prospective studies have demonstrated that hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in women is associated with a 2-3-fold increase of venous thromboembolism events. To minimize this risk, it seems desirable to carefully evaluate the individual clinical risk factors. Prescribing HRT should clearly be avoided in women with previous thromboembolic events. In case of familial thrombophilia, HRT should probably be prescribed with caution. Recent data suggest that transdermal HRT would induce a lower increase in thrombotic risk, but additional studies are needed to determine whether they can be safely used in women at risk. In each case, the net balance of risk and benefit of HRT use must consider the potential beneficial health effects, the most evident being the relief of climacteric symptoms.  相似文献

Four genes responsible for recessively inherited forms of Parkinson's disease (PD) have been identified, including the recently discovered ATP13A2 (PARK9) gene. Our objective was to investigate the role of this gene in a large cohort of PD patients and controls. We extensively screened all 29 exons of the ATP13A2 coding region in 112 patients with early‐onset PD (EOPD; <40 years) of mostly European ethnic origin and of 55 controls. We identified four carriers (3.6%) of novel single heterozygous ATP13A2 missense changes that were absent in controls. Interestingly, the carrier of one of these variants also harbored two mutations in the Parkin gene. None of the carriers had atypical features previously described in patients with two mutated ATP13A2 alleles (Kufor–Rakeb syndrome). Our data suggest that two mutated ATP13A2 alleles are not a common cause of PD. Although heterozygous variants are present in a considerable number of patients, they are—based on this relatively small sample—not significantly more frequent in patients compared to controls. © 2009 Movement Disorder Society  相似文献

Acute exercise has been shown to exhibit different effects on human sensorimotor behavior; however, the causes and mechanisms of the responses are often not clear. The primary aim of the present study was to determine the effects of incremental running until exhaustion on sensorimotor performance and adaptation in a tracking task. Subjects were randomly assigned to a running group (RG), a tracking group (TG), or a running followed by tracking group (RTG), with 10 subjects assigned to each group. Treadmill running velocity was initially set at 2.0 m s(-1), increasing by 0.5 m s(-1) every 5 min until exhaustion. Tracking consisted of 35 episodes (each 40 s) where the subjects' task was to track a visual target on a computer screen while the visual feedback was veridical (performance) or left-right reversed (adaptation). Resting electroencephalographic (EEG) activity was recorded before and after each experimental condition (running, tracking, rest). Tracking performance and the final amount of adaptation did not differ between groups. However, task adaptation was significantly faster in RTG compared to TG. In addition, increased alpha and beta power were observed following tracking in TG but not RTG although exhaustive running failed to induce significant changes in these frequency bands. Our results suggest that exhaustive running can facilitate adaptation processes in a manual tracking task. Attenuated cortical activation following tracking in the exercise condition was interpreted to indicate cortical efficiency and exercise-induced facilitation of selective central processes during actual task demands.  相似文献
