We describe a family with an X-linked dominant chondrodysplasia. Four males and six females were affected through four generations. Identification of skeletal abnormalities and hydrocephaly during the pregnancy of three male fetuses led to termination of the pregnancies. A fourth affected male died at 6 days of life. The four patients had chondrodysplasia, hydrocephaly, and facial features with microphthalmia. Radiographs showed severe platyspondyly and various bone abnormalities including a distinctive metaphyseal cupping of the metacarpals, metatarsals, and phalanges. The affected females were less affected and showed small stature, sometimes associated with body asymmetry and mild mental retardation. This condition appears to be a previously unrecognized X-linked dominant chondrodysplasia.  相似文献

A two month-old girl was diagnosed as a case of Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome (RTS) on typical facial dysmorphism, broad and duplicated distal phalanges of thumbs and halluces, growth retardation and psychomotor development delay. Chromosome analysis demonstrated a de novo pericentric inversion of one chromosome 16: 46,XX,inv(16)(p13.3;q13). This association confirms assignment of a locus for RTS gene to 16p13.3, as two others translocations involving the same breakpoint have already been reported.  相似文献

Abstract

The Floating-Harbor syndrome is a growth retardation syndrome with delayed bone age, speech development, and typical facial features. The face is triangular with deep-set eyes, long eyelashes, bulbous nose, wide columella, short philtrum, and thin lips. We present an additional patient and review 16 cases from the literature. The possible phenotype in the patient's mother suggests a dominant mode of inheritance for the syndrome.

Conclusion

The Floating Harbor syndrome is a growth deficiency syndrome characterized by proportionate short stature, characteristic face and delayed speech development. Inheritance is possibly autosomal dominant.  相似文献

A boy was born with multiple anomalies, including right hemifacial microsomia, eye abnormalities, syndactyly, right hand ectrodactyly, hypoplastic nails, omphalocele, bladder exstrophy, renal dilatation, and splayed symphysis pubis. The skin was also abnormal, with atrophic skin plaques and areas of telangiectasia along the lines of Blaschko. The karyotype was 47,XXY (Klinefelter syndrome). He was found to have a heterozygous mutation in the PORCN gene. He exhibited the classical features of focal dermal hypoplasia. Fewer than 15% of reported cases are male when it is thought to be due to postzygotic mutation and thus mosaic. This is the first reported boy to have heterozygous mutation for Goltz syndrome who survived due to the extra X chromosome.  相似文献
