Isoimmunization of rabbits with kidney extracts and Freund's adjuvant leads to the development of responses to a multiplicity of autoantigens. If a large number of kidneys is pooled, there is increased probability that responses directed toward isoantigens can also be detected. Such immunization thus results largely in antisera that possess multiple specificities, but the amount of antibody directed toward each specific antigen varies from one antiserum to another.

Advantage can be taken of these uneven responses by different animals, to enumerate the variety of responses to uniquely separable sets of determinants, by carefully selecting the antisera. In immunodiffusion studies, lines for such separable antigens can be sorted in an unambiguous manner. A total of five such antigens has now been found in kidney, three of which are kidney-specific and two of which are shared with liver. A sixth antigen, separable from liver, may be only a minor constituent of kidney, and was not directly detected in kidney extracts. It is important that fresh concentrated extracts of kidney homogenates be used. The detection of isoantigens requires concentrated extracts prepared from individual kidneys.

The antigenic and allergenic properties of phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and whole bee venom were compared by measuring the IgG and IgE antibody responses in animals and man. Precipitating antibodies raised in rabbits and reaginic and other antibodies raised in mice reacted about equally with both bee venom and PLA. The majority of human sera containing bee venom-specific IgE also contained PLA-specific IgE, although in somewhat lower titers. Similarly, most human sera with significant amounts of total antibodies reacting with bee venom also had antibodies reacting with PLA. Histamine and SRS-a release from leukocytes of sensitive patients followed challenge with whole bee venom and PLA in the majority of instances. However, mediator release from several patients' cells was obtained with bee venom only. These studies suggest that although PLA is a major allergen and antigen in bee venom, significant exceptions in patients' reactivity may limit its potential diagnostic and therapeutic usefulness.  相似文献

Polyolefins are used in everyday life, including in the production of many types of plastic. In addition, polyolefins account for over 50% of the polymers produced in the world. After conducting the oligomerization reactions of 2-propen-1-ol, 2-chloro-2-propen-1-ol, and norborene, polyolefins are obtained. In this report, two complexes of oxovanadium(IV) and dioxovanadium(V) with dipicolinate, 2-phenylyridine, and 4,4′-dimethoxy-2,2′-bipyridyl as precatalysts for 2-propen-1-ol, 2-chloro-2-propen-1-ol, and norborene oligomerizations are prepared. We present for the first time the new dipicolinate complex compound of oxovanadium(IV) with 4,4′-dimetoxy-2,2′-bipyridyl. Both complexes were tested for catalytic activity in the oligomerization reactions of 2-propen-1-ol, 2-chloro-2-propen-1-ol, and norbornene. Both synthesized complexes showed high catalytic activity in these oligomerization reactions, except for the oligomerization of norbornene.  相似文献

We present a case of a 65 year-old woman with a late vesicovaginal fistula after colporrhaphy. Too late proper diagnosis of that complication caused perivesical tissue inflammation and led to damage to the urinary bladder, occlusion of the urethra as well as created a massive inflammatory tumor in the minor pelvis, which suggested a cancerous process. Bilateral hydronephrosis forced us to make bilateral nephrostomy. After intensive antiinflammatory therapy, anterior exenteration and Bricker's operation were performed with a finally good effect.  相似文献

A case of ectopic spleen diagnosed as a left adnexal tumor in a 19 year old female was presented. Considering the rareness and lack of typical symptoms, diagnosis of this pathology still is very difficult, and establish most often intraoperatively. In every case of ascertainment irregular mass in minor pelvis one should differentiate it among: colonic diverticulosis, wandering kidney, coproliths, colon and mesentery tumors and ectopic spleen. We consider that ultrasonography plays the special role in these cases. In every case of stating the pathologic structure in minor pelvis it seems advisable not to content only with estimation of genital organs, but also locate such as: kidneys, liver, spleen. Although the visual perception depends on the integration of spatial and temporal information, no knowledge is available concerning the responsiveness of neurons in the intermediate layers of the superior colliculus (SCi) to extended visual grating stimuli. Accordingly, we set out to investigate the responsiveness of these neurons in halothane-anesthetized cats to drifting sinewave gratings at various spatial and temporal frequencies. The SCi units responded optimally to gratings of low spatial frequencies (none of the analyzed SCi units exhibited maximal activity to spatial frequencies higher than 0.3 c/deg) and exhibited low spatial resolution and narrow spatial frequency tuning. On the other hand, the SCi neurons preferred high temporal frequencies and exhibited high temporal resolution. Thus, the SCi neurons seem to be good spatio–temporal filters of visual information in the low spatial and high temporal frequency domain. Based upon the above summarized results we suggest that the SCi units can detect large contours moving at high velocities well, but are unable to distinguish small details. This is in line with the generally held view that the SCi could possess visuomotor function, such as organizing the complex, sensory-guided oculomotor and skeletomotor responses during the self-motion of the animal.  相似文献

Enalaprilate (Enal), an active pharmaceutical component, was intercalated into a layered double hydroxide (Mg/Al-LDH) by an ion exchange reaction. The use of a layered double hydroxide (LDH) to release active drugs is limited by the low pH of the stomach (pH approximately 1.2), in whose condition it is readily dissolved. To overcome this limitation, xyloglucan (XG) extracted from Hymenaea courbaril (jatobá) seeds, Brazilian species, was used to protect the LDH and allow the drug to pass through the gastrointestinal tract. All the materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analyses, transmission electronic microscopy, thermal analyses, and a kinetic study of the in vitro release was monitored by ultraviolet spectroscopy. The resulting hybrid system containing HDL-Enal-XG(3) slowly released the Enal. In an 8-h of test, the system protected 40% (w/v) of the drug. The kinetic profile showed that the drug release was a co-effect behavior, involving dissolution of inorganic material and ion exchange between the intercalated anions in the lamella and those of phosphate in the buffer solution. The nanocomposite coated protection with XG was therefore efficient in obtaining a slow release of Enal.  相似文献

We reported a new method dealing with the synthesis of novel pharmacologically relevant α-aminophosphonate derivatives via a lipase-catalyzed Kabachnik−Fields reaction with yields of up to 93%. The advantages of this protocol are excellent yields, mild reaction conditions, low costs, and sustainability. The developed protocol is applicable to a range of H-phosphites and organic amines, providing a wide substrate scope. A new class of α-aminophosphonate analogues possessing P-chiral centers was also synthesized. The synthesized compounds were characterized on the basis of their antimicrobial activities against E. coli. The impact of the various alkoxy groups on antimicrobial activity was demonstrated. The crucial role of the substituents, located at the aromatic rings in the phenylethyloxy and benzyloxy groups, on the inhibitory action against selected pathogenic E. coli strains was revealed. The observed results are especially important because of increasing resistance of bacteria to various drugs and antibiotics.  相似文献
