There are many new nuclear methods in diagnosing cardiovascular disease. We present about 2 nuclear diagnosing methods. One is about 123I-BMIPP and the other 123I-MIBG. 123I-beta-methyl iodophenyl pentadecanoic acid(123I-BMIPP) is the tracer to evaluate the metabolism of a fatty acid of the heart. A combination of perfusion and fatty acid imagings indicates the recovery of cardiac wall motion can be expected in acute myocardial infarction in zones where 123I-BMIPP decreased uptake is greater than 201T1 perfusion defect. In angina pectoris, especially in unstable angina, 123I-BMIPP may be available to detect myocardial ischemia. 123I-meta-iodobenzylguanidine(123I-MIBG) is the trace that be able to assess the heart with sympathetic innervation. 123I-MIBG scintigraphy is a useful noninvasive method for the assessment of not only myocardial ischemia but also the degree of congestive heart failure. Effects of dietary administration of 1'-acetoxychavicol acetate (ACA) and the novel synthetic retinoids 4-[1-hydroxy-3-oxo-3-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3-hydroxy-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-naphthalenyl)-1-propenyl]benzoic acid (Re-80); 4-[(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-2-naphthalenyl)carboxamido]benzoic acid (Am-580); and 6-[(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl) carbamoyl]nicotinic acid (Am-55P) were examined using a two-stage rat carcinogenesis model. A total of 190 female SD rats was treated sequentially with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH, s.c.); 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA, i.g.); and 2,2'-dihydroxy-di-n-propylnitrosamine (DHPN, in the drinking water) during the first three weeks (DDD-initiation), and an additional 60 rats received the vehicle alone (non-initiation). One week after the completion of the initiation period, they were divided into nine groups and administrated Re-80 (at dose levels of 1.0 or 0.4 ppm), Am-580 (20 or 4 ppm), Am-55P (20 ppm), ACA (100 ppm), all-trans-retinoic acid (10 or 2 ppm) or no supplement in the diet for 33 weeks, until survivors were euthanatized at week 37 weeks. After DDD-initiation, all-trans-retinoic acid at the high dose delayed the development of mammary tumors. The multiplicity of colon tumors in the group fed Am-55P and the incidences of nephroblastomas with ACA or Am-580 were decreased as compared with the control values, but the other chemicals had no modifying effects on tumor development in any organs. Thus, among ACA and the novel synthetic retinoids tested, only Am-55P showed a weak inhibitory effect on a neoplasm of general interest under the present experimental conditions. 相似文献

Cancer immunotherapy by fusion of antigen-presenting cells and tumor cells has been shown to induce potent antitumor immunity. In this study, we characterized syngeneic and allogeneic, murine macrophage/dendritic cell (DC)-cancer fusion cells for the antitumor effects. The results showed the superiority of allogeneic cells as fusion partners in both types of antigen-presenting cells in an in vivo immunotherapy model. A potent induction of tumor-specific CTLs was observed in these immunized conditions. In addition, the immunization with DC-cancer fusion cells was better than that with macrophage-cancer fusion cells. Both syngeneic and allogeneic DC-cancer fusion cells induced higher levels of IFN-gamma production than macrophage-cancer fusion cells. Interestingly, allogeneic DC-cancer fusion cells were superior in that they efficiently induced Th1-type cytokines but not the Th2-type cytokines interleukin (IL)-10 and IL-4, whereas syngeneic DC-cancer fusion cells were powerful inducers of both Th1 and Th2 cytokines. These results suggest that allogeneic DCs are suitable as fusion cells in cancer immunotherapy. To further enhance the antitumor immunity in the clinical setting, we prepared DCs fused with IL-12 gene-transferred cancer cells and thus generated IL-12-secreting DC-cancer fusion cells. Immunization with these gene-modified DC-cancer fusion cells was able to elicit a markedly enhanced antitumor effect in the in vivo therapeutic model. A frequent association of biliary tract carcinoma and anomalous pancreaticobiliary ductal union (APBD) is well recognized, especially gall-bladder carcinoma in undilated type APBD. However, little is known about the presence and incidence of adenomyomatosis (AMT) of the gall-bladder, a presumed premalignant lesion, in patients with APBD. This retrospective study was conducted to elucidate the clinical features and incidence of AMT in APBD patients with relation to undilated type and dilated type APBD. We reviewed the clinicopathological records of 30 patients with APBD (28 women and two men) encountered during the past 10 years. Among them, 22 patients underwent cholecystectomy and the resected specimens were subjected to histopathological examinations. Eleven cases of APBD patients were undilated type and 11 cases were dilated type. Adenomyomatosis was found in six (55%) of 11 undilated type and one (9%) of 11 dilated type, and fundal type was predominantly observed in six (86%) of seven AMT. An overall incidence of AMT in APBD patients was 32%. An undilated type of APBD is frequently associated with AMT and we believe, therefore, that clinicians should be aware of a possible coexistence of APBD and AMT. 相似文献

"Groove pancreatitis", a form of segmental pancreatitis affecting the head of the pancreas, is local-ized within the "groove"
between pancreas head, duo-denum, and common bile duct. Differentiation between groove pancreatitis and pancreatic head carcinoma
is often difficult. We report a case of groove pancreatitis in which a hypoechoic mass between the duodenal wall and pancreas
was clearly imaged, and narrowing of the second portion of the duodenum and bile duct stenosis were also found. The diagnosis
was confirmed by surgery (pylorus-preserving pancreato duodenectomy). The patient was relieved from abdominal pain post operation.
Up to the present, the patient has been good condition. We review the clinicopathologic and radiologic features of groove
pancreatitis in the Japanese literature and discuss the possible role of Santorini's duct in its pathogenesis. We consider
that impacted protein plugs in Santorini's duct are a pathogenic factor in the development of groove pancreatitis. Therefore,
the findings of Santorini's duct on endoscopic retrograde pancreatography are very important in the diagnosis of groove pancreatitis.
Groove pancreatitis presents various clinical features, such as biliary stenosis, duodenal stenosis, and pancreatic mass,
and often masquerades as pancreatic head carcinoma. This condition should be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of
pancreatic head carcinoma.
