Scorpion stings represent a medical problem in numerous countries. The scorpion Androctonus australis hector produces three alpha toxins (Aah I to III), which are responsible for most of the lethality in mammals. These toxins act on sodium channel and do not cross-react immunologically. We used RIA and ELISA to measure the concentrations of these three toxins in plasma, urine and different organs after i.v. and s.c. injections of water extracts of venoms in rabbits or mice. In both animals, the toxins rapidly appeared in plasma after s.c. injection as it was previously described for the whole venom. However, the toxins disappeared from the blood more quickly than did other main components of the venom. Thus, serotherapy must be initiated immediately to prevent the toxin from reaching its target. We also detected the toxins in urine, kidneys, heart and lungs, but not in the brain. However, the concentration of Aah II was always lower than that of Aah I. Analysis of five samples of venom collected in different areas of southern Tunisia showed that a large polymorphism exists for the three toxins. This is yet another difficulty for serotherapy as there is no cross-antigenicity between them. 相似文献

In this paper, we study the postural behaviour of two categories of people: Post-CVA subjects suffering from cerebrovascular accident syndromes and healthy individuals under several levels of anterior–posterior and medial–lateral sinusoidal disturbances (0.1–0.5 Hz). These perturbations were produced from an omnidirectional platform called Isiskate. Afterwards, we have quantified seventy postural parameters, they were combined of linear stabilometric parameters and non-linear time dependent stochastic parameters using stabilogram diffusion analysis and some spectral attributes using power spectral density. The aim of our analysis is to reduce data dimensionality using principal component analysis (PCA). Furthermore, we proposed a new PCA-related criterion named: criterion of contribution in order to evaluate the contribution of every variable in the resulted system structure, and thus to eliminate the redundant postural characteristics. Afterwards, we highlighted some interesting distinctive parameters. The selected parameters were used thereafter in comparison between the studied groups. Finally, we created a classification model using support vector machines to distinguish stroke patients. Our proposed techniques help in understanding the human postural dynamics and facilitate the diagnosis of pathologies related to equilibrium which can be used to improve the rehabilitation services. 相似文献

A series of ruthenium(ii) complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene ligands were successfully synthesized by transmetalation reactions between silver(i) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes and [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 in dichloromethane under Ar conditions. All new compounds were characterized by spectroscopic and analytical methods. These ruthenium(ii)–NHC complexes were found to be efficient precatalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of ketones by using 2-propanol as the hydrogen source in the presence of KOH as a co-catalyst. The antibacterial activity of ruthenium N-heterocyclic carbene complexes 3a–f was measured by disc diffusion method against Gram positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Compounds 3d exhibited potential antibacterial activity against five bacterial species among the six used as indicator cells. The product 3e inhibits the growth of all the six tested microorganisms. Moreover, the antioxidant activity determination of these complexes 3a–f, using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) as reagent, showed that compounds 3b and 3d possess DPPH and ABTS antiradical activities. From a concentration of 1 mg ml−1, these two complexes presented a similar scavenging activity to that of the two used controls gallic acid (GA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). From a concentration of 10 mg ml−1, the percentage inhibition of complexes 3b and 3d was respectively 70% and 90%. In addition, these two Ru–NHC complexes exhibited antifungal activity against Candida albicans. Investigation of the anti-acetylcholinesterase activity of the studied complexes showed that compounds 3a, 3b, 3d and 3e exhibited good activity at 100 μg ml−1 and product 3d is the most active. In a cytotoxicity study the complexes 3 were evaluated against two human cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7. PPARδ +294T/C polymorphism was investigated in diabetics, in normolipidemic healthy controls, in dyslipidemic and nondyslipidemic coronary artery disease patients but never in ischemic stroke patients. The aim of this study was to explore, for the first time, the relationship between the genetic polymorphism of PPARδ and the risk of ischemic stroke among patients with diabetes. The study group consisted of 196 patients with ischemic stroke and 192 controls. Plasma concentrations of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-, and high-density lipoprotein did not differ significantly between subjects carrying the TT genotype and those carrying the CC/TC genotype in both ischemic stroke patients (with or without diabetes) and control groups. The +294C allele (CC + CT genotypes) as compared with TT genotypes was found to be higher in total ischemic stroke patients than in controls. On the other hand, no interaction between diabetes and PPAR +294T/C polymorphism on the risk of ischemic stroke was found (p?=?0.089). The PPARδ +294T/C polymorphism was associated with the risk of ischemic stroke in Tunisian subjects. This polymorphism has no influence on plasma lipoprotein concentrations and body mass index either in healthy subjects or in ischemic stroke patients with or without diabetes both in males and females. 相似文献

N,N-Substituted benzimidazole salts were successfully synthesized and characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C {1H} NMR and IR techniques, which support the proposed structures. Catalysts generated in situ were efficiently used for the carbonylative cross-coupling reaction of 2 bromopyridine with various boronic acids. The reaction was carried out in THF at 110 °C in the presence of K2CO3 under inert conditions and yields unsymmetrical arylpyridine ketones. All N,N-substituted benzimidazole salts 2a–i and 4a–i studied in this work were screened for their cytotoxic activities against human cancer cell lines such us MDA-MB-231, MCF-7 and T47D. The N,N-substituted benzimidazoles 2e and 2f exhibited the most cytotoxic effect with promising cytotoxic activity with IC50 values of 4.45 μg mL−1 against MDA-MB-231 and 4.85 μg mL−1 against MCF7 respectively.The in situ prepared four component system Pd(OAc)2, 1,3-dialkylbenzimidazolium halides 2a–i and 4a–i, K2CO3 under CO atmosphere catalyses carbonylative cross-coupling reaction of 2-bromopyridine with various boronic acids to yield unsymmetrical arylpyridine ketones. 相似文献

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the frequency of HLA-B27 and its alleles in reactive arthritis (ReA) and
in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in Tunisia. HLA-B27 alleles were typed by PCR amplification with sequence-specific primers.
We studied 17 patients with ReA associated with urethritis or with gastrointestinal infection; 42 HLA-B27-positive patients
with AS and 100 healthy controls. Eleven ReA patients (67.7%) were HLA-B27 positive. There was an increased frequencies of
HLA-B27 (P = 7.76 × 10−12, OR = 59.30) and a moderate increase of HLA-B51 (P = 0.015; OR = 4.91) alleles in ReA patients when compared with healthy controls. Four B27 subtypes were identified: B*2702,
05, 09 and B*2712. The distribution of these alleles in the ReA patients was 37.5% for B*2702 and B*2705. Only these two subtypes
were detected in 18 (42.8%) and 24 (57.1%), respectively, of the AS patients. B*2709 and B*2712 were relatively rare in ReA
patients and were identified in one case each. Our results showed a restricted number of HLA-B27 subtypes associated with
