Ten patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and ten with Myotonic Dystrophy (MD) underwent an evaluation of cardiovascular reflexes by classic tests, tilt table test and mental stressors. Sympathetic and parasympathetic changes were detected by classical tests in MS patients. Mental stressors appeared able to reveal blood pressure control impairment in MD patients. Lower differential blood pressure was observed during mental stressors administration in MS with brainstem lesions at MRI.  相似文献

The diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD) can be achieved with high degrees of accuracy in cases with full expression of classical clinical features. However, diagnostic uncertainty remains in early disease with subtle or ambiguous signs. Functional imaging has been suggested to increase the diagnostic yield in parkinsonian syndromes with uncertain clinical classification. Loss of striatal dopamine nerve terminal function, a hallmark of neurodegenerative Parkinsonism, is strongly related to decreases of dopamine transporter (DAT) density, which can be measured by single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). The use of DAT‐SPECT facilitates the differential diagnosis in patients with isolated tremor symptoms not fulfilling PD or essential tremor criteria, drug‐induced, psychogenic and vascular Parkinsonism as well as dementia when associated with Parkinsonism. This review addresses the value of DAT‐SPECT in early differential diagnosis, and its potential as a screening tool for subjects at risk of developing PD as well as issues around the assessment of disease progression. © 2007 Movement Disorder Society  相似文献

1. In agreement with previous work, we have found that the ipsilateral visual field is represented in an extensive rostral portion--from one-third to one-half--of the superior colliculus (SC) of the cat. This representation is binocular. The SC representation of the ipsilateral visual field can be mediated both directly, by crossed retinotectal connections originating from temporal hemiretina, and indirectly, by across-the-midline connections relaying visual information from one-half of the brain to contralateral SC. 2. In order to study the indirect, across-the-midline visual input to the SC, we have recorded responses of SC neurons to visual stimuli presented to either the ipsilateral or the contralateral eye of cats with a midsagittal splitting of the optic chiasm. Units driven by the ipsilateral eye, presumably through the direct retinotectal input and/or corticotectal connections from ipsilateral visual cortex, were found throughout the SC, except at its caudal pole, which normally receives fibers from the extreme periphery of the contralateral nasal hemiretina. Units driven by the contralateral eye, undoubtedly through an indirect across-the-midline connection, were found only in the anterior portion of the SC, in which is normally represented the ipsilateral visual field. Receptive fields in both ipsilateral and contralateral eye had properties typical of SC receptive fields in cats with intact optic pathways. 3. All units having a receptive field in the contralateral eye had also a receptive field in the ipsilateral eye; for each of these units, the receptive fields in both eyes invariably abutted the vertical meridian of the visual field. The receptive field in one eye had about the same elevation relative to the horizontal meridian and the same vertical extension as the receptive field in the other eye; the two receptive fields of each binocular unit matched each other at the vertical meridian and formed a combined receptive field straddling the vertical midline of the horopter...  相似文献

In a previous report we described the synthesis and biological properties of a group of pyrimido[4,5,6-kl]acridines 2, related to the pyrazolo[4,5,6-kl]acridines 1, promising antitumor agents possessing a broad spectrum of activity. Since the substitution of the pyrazole ring of the pyrazoloacridine chromophore with a pyrimidinone leads to derivatives that retain in vitro cytotoxic activity, we decided to further investigate the pyrimido[4,5 6-kl]acridines. Modifications at the ring system level, leading to chromophores with different characteristics, changes of substituent groups in position 6, simultaneous alteration of the chromophore and the introduction of a second cationic side chain in position 1 afforded 29 new pyrimido[4,5,6-kl]acridines, which were tested in vitro against the human colon adenocarcinoma HT29 cell line. Interesting structure-activity relationships could be drawn. Some selected derivatives were screened for their cytotoxic activity on the National Cancer Institute cell panel (60 human tumor lines).  相似文献
