Following the discovery of the human histamine H4 receptor, a high throughput screen of our corporate compound collection identified compound 6 as a potential lead. Investigation of the SAR resulted in the discovery of novel compounds 10e and 10l, which are the first potent and selective histamine H4 receptor antagonists to be described.  相似文献

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Screening and detection of early stages of CKD can help institute interventions that may delay the progression of the disease. One aim was to study the prevalence of early stages of CKD in the Army.Methods: A cross-sectional study ofArmy Personnel in an Army cantt in Central India was carried out. All participants filled a structured questionnaire and anthropometric data was collected. Investigative profile included routine urine exam, semi-quantitative microalbuminuria (MAU), serum creatinine, lipid profile and fasting blood glucose. Glomerular Filteration rate (eGFR) was calculated using the Modification of Diet in Renal Diseases (MDRD) study equation.Result: A total of 1920 subjects were examined with 731 (38.07%) from Arms and 1189 (6I.93%) from Services. 348 were excluded and of the remaining 1572 subjects, 141 (8.97%) had MAU and 157 (9.99%) had deranged Albumin Creatinine Ratio (ACR). Mean eGFR by MDRD equation was 102 ± 25.84 ml/min/1.73m2. Early CKD was seen in 150 (9.54%) with 84 (5.34%) in stage I CKD, 55 (3.5%) in stage II and 11 (0.7%) in stage III. Multiple logistic regression showed BMI > 23, the presence of DM and HTN were independent risk factors for CKD.Conclusion: 9.54 % of healthy army personnel were found to have early stages of CKD. Institution of screening programs can result in early detection of CKD.  相似文献

It is high time to placate the peak demand for an efficient, economic and green fuel in the form of H2 through photocatalytic water splitting. Several low dimensional materials have been explored for their photocatalytic properties on account of their surface to volume ratio. The present study illustrates the excellent photocatalytic potential of a two-dimensional material, viz. a chemically tempered blue-phosphorene sheet, with single atom thickness and high carrier mobility. Metal-free element, sulphur, is explored as a dopant in a 32-atom blue-phosphorene sheet. The dopant is inserted at three locations viz. central, edge and central edge positions with varying concentrations from 3.125% to 18.75% (corresponding to n = 1 to 6 sulphur atoms within a 32-atom blue-phosphorene sheet, P32−nSn). The cohesive energy studies predict the higher stability of even number S doped sheets as compared to their odd counterparts. Photocatalytic activity is studied in terms of band gap and band alignment for different concentrations of the former. Studies reveal that edge doping demonstrates better water molecule activation independent of S atom concentration. The edge doped systems not only provide the chemical activity to activate water, but also show feasible HER overpotentials of 1.24–1.29 eV at neutral medium. Finally, this work opens up a driving lead of non-corrosive catalysts for water molecule splitting.

An otherwise healthy, full-term neonate presented at day 15 of life to the pediatric emergency with generalized papulo-pustular rash for 2 d. This was finally diagnosed as bullous impetigo caused by Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). The skin lesions decreased significantly after starting antibiotic therapy and drainage of blister fluid. There was no recurrence of the lesions on follow-up. This case of generalized pustular eruption due to S. aureus in a neonate is reported, as it poses a diagnostic dilemma and can have serious consequences if left untreated.  相似文献

Three series of H(4) receptor ligands, derived from indoly-2-yl-(4-methyl-piperazin-1-yl)-methanones, have been synthesized and their structure-activity relationships evaluated for activity at the H(4) receptor in competitive binding and functional assays. In all cases, substitution of small lipophilic groups in the 4 and 5-positions led to increased activity in a [(3)H]histamine radiolabeled ligand competitive binding assay. In vitro metabolism and initial pharmacokinetic studies were performed on selected compounds leading to the identification of indole 8 and benzimidazole 40 as potent H(4) antagonists with the potential for further development. In addition, both 8 and 40 demonstrated efficacy in in vitro mast cell and eosinophil chemotaxis assays.  相似文献

Glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) enzyme was conventionally known as a mitochondrial marker. However, subsequently it was reported to be present in the nuclei as well. So far, the nuclear distribution of GDH has been reported in a number of organisms including yeast, rat, cow, chicken. However, the sub-cellular distribution of GDH, illustrated by in situ methods still remains elusive. Here, by assaying the GDH activity and by immuno-blotting using anti-GDH antibody in the fractionated nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions of Drosophila larvae, we demonstrate the cytoplasmic distribution of GDH. This observation was further supported by in situ immunostaining of salivary gland, Malpighian tubules and eye imaginal discs of Drosophila larvae. Collectively, our results demonstrate that in Drosophila larvae, GDH is not found in the nucleus, but is localized exclusively in the cytoplasm.  相似文献
