Fifty two outpatients, who showed signs of school-refusal-withdrawal at the Shiga Prefectural Psychiatric Institution have been analyzed according to their age, gender, ICD-10 diagnosis, medical evolution, and total number of consultations. A total of 61.5% of the population were male, and they showed a higher average and a wider range of age than female patients. According to the ICD-10 diagnosis, 67.3% were in the group of F40-48 neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders, and 11.5% were in the group of F30-39 mood [affective] disorders. Twenty five % of the patients were assumed to have show medical improvement, and 42.3% of the patients continued to have further consultations. This article discusses the possible role of psychiatric medical institutions in supporting cases of school-refusal and social-withdrawal. 相似文献

Water-insoluble polyelectrolyte complexes (PEC) were prepared by mixing methyl glycol chitosan (MGC, 1 ) and [2-(diethylamino)ethyl]dextran (EA, 2 ) with poly(potassium vinyl sulfate) (PVSK, 3 ) in aqueous solution at various hydrogen ion concentrations. Elemental analyses, IR spectroscopy, and solubilities of PEC reveal that PEC differ in molecular structure and properties according to pH. It seems that the degree of dissociation and the conformation of MGC, EA, and PVSK change with pH. PEC membranes were made by casting from solutions of all kinds of PEC, and transport phenomena through the membrane of PEC prepared in 4 wt.-% HCl solution were investigated under various conditions. The driving force of the transport depends on the membrance potential, Donnan potential, and diffusion potential, according to measurements of the transport ratio of Na+ and the electric potential difference between the left- and right-hand side of the membrane. The present study was designed to investigate the presynaptic alpha 2-adrenoceptor function to inhibit norepinephrine (NE) release in blood vessels of reduced renal mass salt hypertensive rats (Na-loaded HT). Isolated perfused mesenteric vasculatures were prepared from Na-loaded HT and normotensive control rats (NT-control), and the NE release and vascular responsiveness were examined. Periarterial nerve stimulation caused a significantly greater release of NE and pressor responses in Na-loaded HT than in NT-control. Yohimbine, a potent alpha 2-adrenoceptor antagonist, demonstrated the facilitatory effects on NE release during nerve stimulation. The effects were significantly attenuated in Na-loaded HT compared with NT-control. These results demonstrate that vascular sympathetic nervous activity might be enhanced in Na-loaded HT. Furthermore, the increased NE release from vascular adrenergic neurons in Na-loaded HT could partially depend on impaired presynaptic alpha 2-adrenoceptor-mediated modulation, which might contribute to the pathogenesis and maintenance of this form of salt-dependent hypertension. 相似文献

Liposomes as drug carriers in cancer chemotherapy have attracted considerable interest. To enhance the therapeutic effect of Adriamycin entrapped in liposomes (Lip-ADM) on human solid tumors, we investigated the therapeutic effects of Lip-ADM in combination with recombinant human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (rTNF-alpha), which is known to have specific effects on tumor vasculature. rTNF-alpha or saline solution was injected intravenously into nude mice bearing a human colon cancer strain, HC-1, at 1 hour before intravenous administration of Lip-ADM. The significant therapeutic effect of Lip-ADM in combination with rTNF-alpha was demonstrated by the evaluation with tumor growth curve and the actual tumor weights, in comparison with groups of mice treated with saline solution, rTNF-alpha alone, or with a Lip-ADM after saline. Levels of Adriamycin in tumor tissue in the Lip-ADM in combination with rTNF-alpha-treated group were higher than those in Lip-ADM with saline solution-treated group. 相似文献

The modifying effects of atrazine, and/or tamoxifen, on thyroid carcinogenesis were investigated in a rat two-stage carcinogenesis model following N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl)nitrosamine (DHPN) initiation. Five-week-old male F344 rats were given a single subcutaneous injection of DHPN (2800 mg/kg, body weight) or vehicle alone. Starting 1 week later, the animals were fed a diet supplemented with 0, 5, 50 or 500 ppm of atrazine, 500 ppm atrazine plus 5 ppm tamoxifen, or 5 ppm tamoxifen in the DHPN-treated groups, and 0 or 500 ppm of atrazine in the DHPN-untreated groups for 24 weeks. At autopsy major organs, including the thyroid, pituitary, liver, kidney, testis, epididymis, and brain, were collected and histopathologically examined. Body weights were significantly (P<0.05) decreased by the high doses of atrazine or tamoxifen, the effect being enhanced in combination. Relative thyroid weights were significantly increased (P<0.05) only in the tamoxifen-treated group and pituitary weights were elevated with 500 ppm atrazine plus tamoxifen (P<0.05). Relative liver weights were increased by the high dose of atrazine. However, the atrazine and/or tamoxifen treatments did not induce significant histopathological changes in the major organs, including the thyroid, nor cause significant changes in serum TSH levels. These results suggest that neither atrazine nor tamoxifen may promote thyroid carcinogenesis, alone as well as in combination. 相似文献

Changes in the nerve fibers of the spinal cord were studied in rat experimental epidural tumor models. Light microscopy showed
demyelinization in all with rats paraparesis and paraplegia. Cross-sectional views of nerve fibers stained with 3,3dipentyloxacarbo-cyanine
iodide, obtained by confocal laser scanning microscopy, showed distorted, shrunken fibers with a low fluorescence intensity.
Changes in the electrolyte contents of nerve fibers were studied by electron probe X-ray microanalysis. The K concentration
in axons and the myelin sheath was increased in the paraparesis group, but was decreased in the paraplegia group. These findings
suggest that, in the paraparesis group, compression of the spinal cord damaged cell membrane channels, which subsequently
caused an increase in intracellular K, a decline in the action potential, and low-intensity fluorescence of nerve fibers.
On the other hand, in the paraplegia group, destruction of cell membranes caused a decrease in intracellular K until it approached
the extracellular level. This reduced both the action potential and the fluorescence intensity. As Ca and Mg concentrations
in both axons and the myelin sheath increased in relation to the severity of neurologic damage, it appears that these electrolytes

To reproduce clinical effects of various antitumor agents in the human tumor/nude mouse model, we investigated the responsiveness of 11 lines of human gastric tumor xenografts to doses of the agents pharmacokinetically equivalent to the respective clinical doses, which we designated the "rational dose" (RD). We found that the response rates to mitomycin C, 3-[(4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidinyl]methyl-1-[2-chloroethyl]-1- nitrosourea (ACNU), adriamycin, 5-fluorouracil were 18%, and that to vinblastine was 30%; on the other hand, those to vincristine, methotrexate, and cyclophosphamide were poor. In contrast, in our previous study using the maximum tolerated doses, response rates to mitomycin C, ACNU, and vinblastine were as high as 64-82%, and those to adriamycin and 5-fluorouracil were 18%. When these results were compared with the clinical response rates of gastric tumors, as a whole, the results with RD's exhibited much better coincidence with the clinical data in terms of relative therapeutic potency, indicating the validity of the use of clinically equivalent doses instead of maximum tolerated doses in the human tumor model. 相似文献
