Juvenile hyaline fibromatosis (JHF) is a rare autosomal recessive hereditary disorder (less than 80 cases reported), characterized by multiple nodular lesions on the skin and musculoskeletal involvement, very debilitating because most adolescents and adults become bedridden. Only 10 cases have been reported on JHF in adulthood. We report the case of a 34-year-old male patient in whom clinical and histological findings were consistent with a mild JHF and focus on the radiographic features. The main purpose of this report is to increase the information available related to the radiographic manifestations and prognosis of JHF.  相似文献

Herein, we investigated the correlation between the chemical composition, microstructure, and microwave properties of composites based on lightly Tb/Tm-doped Sr-hexaferrites (SrTb0.01Tm0.01Fe11.98O19) and spinel ferrites (AFe2O4, A = Co, Ni, Zn, Cu, or Mn), which were fabricated by a one-pot citrate sol–gel method. Powder XRD patterns of products confirmed the presence of pure hexaferrite and spinel phases. Microstructural analysis was performed based on SEM images. The average grain size for each phase in the prepared composites was calculated. Comprehensive investigations of dielectric properties (real (ε′) and imaginary parts (ε′′) of permittivity, dielectric loss tangent (tan(δ)), and AC conductivity) were performed in the 1–3 × 106 Hz frequency range at 20–120 °C. Frequency dependency of microwave properties were investigated using the coaxial method in frequency range of 2–18 GHz. The non-linear behavior of the main microwave properties with a change in composition may be due to the influence of the soft magnetic phase. It was found that Mn- and Ni-spinel ferrites achieved the strongest electromagnetic absorption. This may be due to differences in the structures of the electron shell and the radii of the A-site ions in the spinel phase. It was discovered that the ionic polarization transformed into the dipole polarization.

Urinary markers of workers chronically exposed to mercury vapor   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The effects of chronic mercury intoxication on urinary markers in workers from northeast Algeria were investigated. Workmen were chosen from highly and moderately mercury-exposed factories, while controls were selected from a nonexposed site. The number of proteinuria cases were higher in the highly exposed subjects, although the nature (glomerular or tubular) of proteinuria remains unclear. However, it appears difficult to assess the degree of renal disturbance among the different exposure levels, such as the amount of excreted proteins, which have not clearly reflected the kidney lesion severity. The results also reveal that urine acidity increased progressively with increased levels of exposure, while a remarkable inverse relationship between urinary pH and urinary Hg in the highly exposed workers has been recorded. Furthermore, the significant differences in blood and urinary mercury concentrations of the three sites reflect the dose-response relationships.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The potential of dietary habits to confound the association between alcohol consumption and health needs further study. OBJECTIVE: We examined whether eating habits differed according to alcohol consumption in a large cohort of French women. DESIGN: This was a cross-sectional study of the French cohort of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (E3N-EPIC). The cohort was established in 1990 and includes 100000 women born between 1925 and 1950. Dietary data were obtained between 1993 and 1995 by using self-administered food-frequency questionnaires. About 73000 questionnaires were analyzed, and women were placed into 7 categories of alcohol consumption. RESULTS: After adjustment for energy derived from alcohol, increasing alcohol consumption was associated with a higher total energy intake, a higher percentage of energy intake as protein and lipids, and higher intakes of cholesterol, fatty acids, retinol, iron, and vitamin E. Conversely, energy provided by carbohydrates decreased with increasing alcohol consumption, as did beta-carotene intake. Increasing alcohol consumption was associated with higher consumption of animal products, cheese, potatoes, oil, bread, and breakfast cereals and with lower consumption of vegetables and dairy products. CONCLUSION: In this population of middle-aged, highly educated French women, marked differences in dietary patterns and nutrient intakes were found according to alcohol consumption. Part of the detrimental effect of alcohol on health may be due to the less healthy dietary habits of drinkers. This points to a confounding role of eating habits and nutrient intakes in the relation between alcohol and health.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to valorize the watermelon seeds treated with hexane for the removal of reactive yellow 145 from aqueous solutions. The effects of physico-chemical parameters such as pH, adsorbent dose, temperature and dye concentration on the removal of dyes were evaluated. The kinetic study of the adsorption of reactive yellow 145 on watermelon seeds adsorbent perfectly followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Elovich and Dubinin-Radushkevich models were studied. It was proved that the experimental data fitted well to the Freundlich model, which signifies that the phenomenon of adsorption is done in multilayers on heterogeneous surfaces. The finding of this paper asserts that this material is a good and low-cost adsorbent that can be used for the removal of dyes from aqueous solutions.  相似文献
