Abstrakt 1. § 95b Abs. 3 S. 1 SGB V normiert eine Schuldübernahme i.S. des § 69 S. 3 SGB V i.V. mit § 414 BGB. 2. Ein Vertrags(zahn)arzt, der in einem mit Kollegen aufeinander abgestimmten Verfahren oder Verhalten auf seine Zulassung verzichtet, ist im Anschluss hieran nicht berechtigt, nach Ma?gabe des § 95 Abs. 3 SGB V Versicherte der gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung als Behandlungsf?lle, die erst nach dem Verzicht aufgenommen werden, zu behandeln. Anterior horn changes of motor neuron disease associated with demyelinating radiculopathy

Morphologic study of the spinal cord of a patient with generalized motor deficits revealed changes in the anterior horns characterized by the selective loss of large motor neurons, gliosis and the abnormal accumulation of 10 nm filaments which appeared as argyrophilic spheroids in the perikarya and axons of motor neurons. The ventral roots were predominantly affected and showed a variable loss of axons. The remaining axons displayed prominent onion-bulb formations, frequent axonal sprouting and occasionally evidence of active demyelination. The coexistence of a demyelinating motor radiculopathy and anterior horn changes simulating those of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) may contribute to our understanding of the unresolved question of whether the neuronal perikaryon or its axon is the primary target in the pathogenesis of ALS. These observations also indicate that a rigid separation of pathogenetic mechanisms into neuronopathy, axonopathy and myelinopathy may not be always possible.     

Alcohol consumption of patients attending two accident and emergency departments in north-west England.

The impact of alcohol use on the workload of two accident & emergency departments in north-west England was assessed by blood alcohol concentration (BAC) measurement, inspection of clinical records and interview of all patients aged 16 and over attending throughout a two-week period. The frequency of intoxication was similar to the previous reported rate in Scotland: 13.2% of all patients had a positive BAC. Inebriated injured patients arrived at all times of the day--varying in frequency from 2.5% of midday attenders to 78% of those presenting after midnight. The incidence of alcohol-related industrial accidents was low, but 60% of all assaulted patients were inebriated, many having sustained head injuries. Of patients attending within 2 hours of an accident at home, 19% also had a positive BAC, but 92% of those with ankle sprains were sober. Patients in lower social classes reported higher rates of alcohol consumption. The popularity of beer in comparison to wines and spirits was inversely related to age and unrelated to social class. Alcohol abuse is commonly associated with injuries sustained at home and with assaults occurring in public places. Prevention campaigns directed at the reduction of these types of incidents should be as concerned with the inebriation of the patient as with the architectural, environmental and legal framework within which the 'accident' occurs.     

Cat-301 immunoreactivity in the lateral geniculate nucleus and visual cortex of the strabismic amblyopic cat

Purpose: It was investigated whether alterations in neuronal structure and function occasioned by strabismic amblyopia also may be reflected in alterations in the expression on Y type neurons of a Cat-301 antibody sensitive antigen in the lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) and cortex of our cat model of strabismic amblyopia. Methods/Results: The percentage of positively labelled cells was reduced in LGN laminae that received input from the deviated eye in strabismic amblyopic cats compared with normal cats. In the strabismic cortex, the density of immunopositive neurons was significantly reduced compared with normal, the effect being most pronounced in layer IV Conclusions: Despite previous physiological recordings indicating a decrease in X-cell associated acuity in strabismic amblyopia, the present findings imply that the changes in the early visual experience occasioned by strabismus also produce specific molecular changes in theY neuronal class.

Evacuation of hematomas using liposuction technology: Technique and literature review

Established nonexpanding hematomas can be successfully treated with minimal morbidity using standard liposucstion techniques at the bedside or in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia. The authors presents a series of eight patients and discuss current concepts of dealing with this common and distressing surgical complication.
