Application of thiamine (1 X 10(-11)-1 X 10(-3) mol/l) on the membrane of cochlear round window increased the amplitude and decreased the latency of the auditory nerve action potential, waves I and II of brainstem auditory-evoked electrical potentials in response to acoustic clicks of different intensity. Duodenal carcinoma is a rare disease and is encountered in no more than 10% of cases of the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The article discusses a rare case in which an isolated duodenal gastrinoma was removed endoscopically with subsequent recovery from the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Study of the serum gastrin concentration with provocative tests allowed the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome to be diagnosed and the radicality of duodenal gastrinoma removal to be controlled. Retrograde duodenoscopy conducted after resection of the gastric stump by the Billroth II method localized the source of hypergastrinemia and made possible radical removal of the duodenal gastrinoma, which was confirmed by normalization of the blood serum gastrin concentration. Analysis of 66 cases with neurodermatitis has made it possible to distinguish five conditions: atopic dermatitis, diffuse, disseminated, or local neurodermatitis, prurigo. Using cross-species chromosome painting, we have carried out a comprehensive comparison of the karyotypes of two Ellobius species with unusual sex determination systems: the Transcaucasian mole vole, Ellobius lutescens (2n = 17, X in both sexes), and the northern mole vole, Ellobius talpinus (2n = 54, XX in both sexes). Both Ellobius species have highly rearranged karyotypes. The chromosomal paints from the field vole (Microtus agrestis) detected, in total, 34 and 32 homologous autosomal regions in E. lutescens and E. talpinus karyotypes, respectively. No difference in hybridization pattern of the X paint (as well as Y paint) probes on male and female chromosomes was discovered. The set of golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) chromosomal painting probes revealed 44 and 43 homologous autosomal regions in E. lutescens and E. talpinus karyotypes, respectively. A comparative chromosome map was established based on the results of cross-species chromosome painting and a hypothetical ancestral Ellobius karyotype was reconstructed. A considerable number of rearrangements were detected; 31 and 7 fusion/fission rearrangements differentiated the karyotypes of E. lutescens and E. talpinus from the ancestral Ellobius karyotype. It seems that inversions have played a minor role in the genome evolution of these Ellobius species.  相似文献

Previous studies have suggested that heterotrimeric G proteins and tyrosine kinases may be involved in lipopolysacchaide (LPS) signaling events. Signal transduction pathways activated by LPS we examined in human pomonocytic THP-l cells. We hypothesized that Gi proteins and Src tyrosine kinase differentially affect mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases (MAPK) and nuclear factor kappa(NF-kappaB) activation. Post-receptor coupling to Ga, proteins were examined using pertussis toxin (PTx),which inhibits Galpha i receptor-coupling. The involvement of the Src family of tyrosine kinases was examined using the selective Src tyrosine kinase inhibitor pyrazolopyrimidine-2 (PP2). Pretreatment of THP-1 cells with PTx attenuated LPS-induced activation of c-Jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK) and p38 kinase, and production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TN-alpha) and thromboxane B2 (TXB2). Pretreatment with PP2 inhibited TNF-alpha and TxB2 production, but had no effect on p38 kinase or JNK signaling. Therefore, the Ga i-coupled signaling pathways and Src tyrosine kinase-coupled signaling pathways are necessary for LPS-induced TNF-alpha and TxB2 production, but differ in their effects on MAPK activation. Neither PTx nor PP2 inhibited LPS-induced activation of interleukin receptor activated kinase (IRAK) or inhibited translocation of NF-kappaB. However, PP2 inhibited LPS-induced NF-kappaB transactivation of a luciferase reporter gene construct in a concentration-dependent manner. Thus, LPS induction of Src tyrosine kinases may be essential in downstream NF-kappaB tansactivation of genes following DNA binding. PTx had no effect on NF-kaapaB activation of the reporter construct. These data suggest upstream divergence in signaling through Galpha i,pathways leading to MAPK activation and other signaling events leading to IkappaBalpha degradation and NF-kaapaB DNA binding.  相似文献
