The Schwartz Outcomes Scale-10 (SOS-10) is a 10-item scale developed to measure the effectiveness of psychiatric treatments.
Using standard methodology, we translated the scale into Czech and examined the psychometric properties of the Czech version.
207 in-patients admitted to Prague Psychiatric Center were included in the study. All patients completed the SOS at admission
and discharge. The SOS-10 scale was also administered to 170 persons from the general population. Reliability, validity and
sensitivity to treatment change of the Czech SOS-10 were analyzed. The Cronbach’s α coefficient was 0.92. The item-total correlation coefficients varied from 0.56 to 0.82. The SOS-10 correlated well with condition-specific
measures including depression (BDI) and anxiety (BAI) and a global self-rated symptom severity scale (CGI). The SOS-10 also
had significant correlations with the Health, Basic needs, Relationship, and Leisure time domains of the Czech version of
the Subjective Quality of Life Analysis (SQUALA-CZ). The scale discriminated well between patients and controls, with patients
scoring significantly lower on all SOS items. The patient sample’s admission and discharge scores were significantly different,
indicating that the scale is sensitive to treatment changes. We concluded that the Czech SOS-10 is valid with reliability

Photodynamic therapy of cancer uses the interaction of sensitizers and light to destroy cancer cells. In this study we tested the cellular uptake of meso-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine (TPPS4) and its complex PdTPPS4 in the presence or absence of 2-hydroxypropyl-cyclodextrins (hpCDs) on G361 human melanoma cells. Self-fluorescence in G361 cells were measured by Perkin-Elmer LS50B luminometer equipped with well plate reader accessory. Morphological changes in cells have been evaluated using inversion fluorescent microscope Olympus IX 70 and image analysis. The uptake of the sensitizer PdTPPS4 at the given time interval from 1 to 48 hours is markedly higher than the uptake of TPPS4. The highest uptake was found for sensitizer PdTPPS4 in combination with hpbetaCD. TPPS4 and PdTPPS4 especially in the supramolecular complex with nontoxic cyclodextrin carriers represent efficient sensitizers for photodynamic therapy in vitro on G361 cells. 相似文献

Five stable hybridoma lines were prepared using the myeloma cell line P3-X63-Ag.653 and spleen cells of mice hyperimmunized by pig transferrin. All hybridomas grew well in mouse peritoneal cavity and produced antibodies of the IgG1 subclass. Antibody preparations obtained from ascitic fluids tested for their capacity of antigen precipitation. No precipitation was obtained with single antibodies and with pairs of antibodies. Three out of 10 possible triads gave clear and sharp precipitation zones and rings in immunodiffusion tests performed in agar gel. All 5 antibodies were shown by quantitative enzyme-immunoassay to be specific for pig transferrin: no cross-reaction was obtained with mouse, human, horse and sheep transferrins. 相似文献

Eight C-6-geranylflavonoids ( 1- 8) were isolated from an ethanol extract of Paulownia tomentosa fruits. Tomentodiplacone ( 1), 3'- O-methyl-5'-hydroxydiplacone ( 2), 3'- O-methyl-5'- O-methyldiplacone ( 3), and tomentodiplacone B ( 4) were obtained as new compounds, and 3'- O-methyldiplacol ( 5) was isolated for the first time from a natural source. The structures of these new compounds were determined by using mass spectrometry (including HRMS) and 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, and the absolute configurations of the compounds were determined by circular dichroism. Pyruvate kinase (PK) deficiency is an iron‐loading anaemia characterized by chronic haemolysis, ineffective erythropoiesis and a requirement for blood transfusion in most cases. We studied 11 patients from 10 unrelated families and found nine different disease‐causing PKLR mutations. Two of these mutations ‐ the point mutation c.878A>T (p.Asp293Val) and the frameshift deletion c.1553delG (p.(Arg518Leufs*12)) ‐ have not been previously described in the literature. This frameshift deletion was associated with an unusually severe phenotype involving neonatal hyperferritinaemia that is not typical of PK deficiency. No disease‐causing mutations in genes associated with haemochromatosis could be found. Inappropriately low levels of hepcidin with respect to iron loading were detected in all PK‐deficient patients with increased ferritin, confirming the predominant effect of accelerated erythropoiesis on hepcidin production. Although the levels of a putative hepcidin suppressor, growth differentiation factor‐15, were increased in PK‐deficient patients, no negative correlation with hepcidin was found. This result indicates the existence of another as‐yet unidentified erythroid regulator of hepcidin synthesis in PK deficiency. 相似文献

Plasma chemical surface modification of nanoparticles in gas–liquid type reactors enables a controllable, specific, low-cost, and environmentally friendly alternative to wet chemistry methods or thermal and dry plasma treatments. Here the atmospheric pressure radio-frequency microplasma jet (µ-APPJ) operating with 0.6% O2 in He is used to deliver aqueous oxygen radicals (AOR) to the surface of ∼3 nm hydrogenated detonation nanodiamonds (H-DNDs) suspended in water. The AOR-treated H-DND samples are characterized by FTIR and XPS spectroscopies and by AFM and SEM imaging. The main chemical reaction mechanism is identified as the abstraction of surface hydrogen atoms by O or OH radicals and a consequent attachment of the OH group, thereby increasing concentration of alcohols, carboxyls, and aldehydes on the DND''s surface. FTIR spectra reveal also a structural re-arrangement of the surface water on the AOR-treated H-DNDs. Yet zeta-potential of AOR-treated H-DNDs still remains positive (decreases from +45 mV to +30 mV). The chemical modification gives rise to formation of nanoscale chain-like aggregates when AOR-treated H-DNDs are deposited on Si substrate.Colloidal nanodiamonds are hydroxylated by action of plasma-supplied O atoms and undergo self-assembly to chains. 相似文献

The protein composition of the insoluble avian eggshell matrix was studied. The determination of these proteins insoluble in water (EDTA-insoluble) was carried out using enzymatic cleavage followed by a high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method. The influence of various enzymes on the protein splitting also was studied. The distribution of proteins depends on the type of layer (localization within the eggshell): ovocalyxin-32 was found mainly in the outer layer (the cuticle); ovocleidin-116 and 17 and ovocalyxin-36 were found throughout the whole eggshell, whereas ovalbumin was only found in the inner layer, the mammillary. The pigment (protoporphyrin IX) was mainly found in the cuticle and is incorporated into the protein network. 相似文献
