Parameters of cellular immunity in perimenopausal patients with glandular and adenomatous endometrial hyperplasia

No appreciable disorders of cellular immunity were detected in patients with glandular cystic endometrial hyperplasia. Atypical endometrial hyperplasia was associated with quantitative changes in T lymphocytes and their subpopulations, decreased level of lymphocytes carrying activation antigens, and increased count of natural killers. These changes can be characterized as immunocompensation.     

Study of the formation of intestinal microflora in newborn infants staying with or separated from their mothers

In children of the first month of life, the formation of normal intestinal microflora was studied depending on whether they stayed with mothers or alone in the maternity home. Thirty healthy neonates born to young healthy mothers with a history of a favourable course of pregnancy which progressed to the delivery via the natural maternal passages were examined. Intestinal microbiocenosis in the newborn turned out more physiological provided they were placed at the "mother-child" department as compared to that when the newborn stayed alone. Organization of the joint staying of mothers and children in the wards of the maternity home increases the colonization resistance of the newborn, favours normal adaptation and may be one of the factors bringing about the diminution of the rate of pyoseptic diseases in the newborn.     

Experience with the early diagnosis and prevention of neuroendocrine diseases in an industrial enterprise

The paper is concerned with a pressing problem of clinical endocrinology: diagnosis of diseases of the neuroendocrine system at early stages. Examination of workers in a large enterprise of a leading industrial branch was based on a special screening program. The results obtained lay in the basis of recommendations on the primary and secondary prevention of neuroendocrine diseases provided to workers in a sanatorium-preventorium without giving up their work. A complex of health-improving measures is aimed at the prevention of disease in persons having risk factors and at maintaining the working ability among patients with neuroendocrine disturbance.
