Although the efficacy and feasibility of coil embolization of coronary arteriovenous fistulas have been reported, the procedure may be complicated by migration of the coil into peripheral vessels or pulmonary arteries. We report two cases of successful coil embolization of such lesions using an interlocking detachable coil. This system can provide safer and more effective coil embolization in patients with coronary arteriovenous fistula.  相似文献

Primary cardiac sarcoma is a rare tumor, found especially in children, particularly in the left side of the heart. This report describes a rare case of primary mitral valve sarcoma in a 7-month-old male infant with hemiparesis and heart murmur who underwent mitral valve replacement because of excessive invasion of the mitral valve by the tumor. The patient remains well, free of recurrence and cerebral metastasis, and without adjuvant therapy 18 months after the operation.  相似文献

Background and Aim: Kupffer cell (KC) function and CD14 expression contributes to pathogenesis of non‐alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). However, these relationships remain unclear. We investigated the relationship of KC function with superparamagnetic iron oxide‐enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (SPIO‐MRI), histopathological severity of NASH, and number of CD14‐positive KCs in NASH. Methods: This retrospective study included 32 patients (24 with NASH and eight with simple steatosis) who had previously undergone SPIO‐MRI with T2‐weighted gradient‐recalled echo sequence. All subjects were diagnosed pathologically and were evaluated for necroinflammation grade, fibrosis stage, and number of CD14‐positive KCs. Patients with NASH and simple steatosis were compared by using the Mann–Whitney test to determine differences in percent reduction of liver‐to‐muscle signal intensity ratio (reduction‐%LMR), as a surrogate parameter of KC function, and number of CD14‐positive KCs. Kruskal–Wallis test and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used to analyze relation among reduction‐%LMR, histopathological severity and number of CD14‐positive KCs. Results: There were statistically significant differences in reduction‐%LMR and number of CD14‐positive KCs between NASH and simple steatosis patients (Mann–Whitney test, P < 0.001 for all comparisons). Reduction‐%LMR decreased with an increase in necroinflammation grade or fibrosis stage. The number of CD14‐positive KCs increased with an increase in necroinflammation grade and fibrosis stage (Kruskal–Wallis test, both, P < 0.001). A high correlation was seen between number of CD14‐positive KCs and reduction‐%LMR (Pearson r = 0.81; P < 0.001). Conclusions: KC phagocytic function evaluated with SPIO‐MRI correlated with histopathological severity and number of CD14‐positive KCs. These results support the concept that KC phagocytic dysfunction contributes to the pathogenesis of NASH.  相似文献

We present the case of a 6-year-old boy who had an omphalocele repaired at day 1 of life. He had a secundum atrial septal defect and an anomalous inferior vena cava of a type which has not been previously reported. Cine-MRI was a useful noninvasive tool for diagnosing the anomalous subaortic innominate vein and four immature vessels which make up the venous drainage systems of the lumbar region. The recognition of this malformation is important in planning and executing surgical repair or cardiac catheterization for postoperative patients with omphaloceles.  相似文献

The first case of a patient with interrupted inferior vena cava, four post-renal veins and an azygoshemiazygos continuation is presented. The complicated anomalies were omphalocele and atrial septal defect. Cine-magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac catheterization showed an anomalous retroaortic left innominate vein, azygos-hemiazygos continuation in the prerenal portion, arch formed renal vein in the renal portion and four embryonic vessels in the post-renal portion. Combination of these anomalies in the major venous system suggested that the inferior vena cava had failed to form and that the bilateral embryonic venous system, postcardinal and supracardinal veins persisted to be the systemic venous channels.  相似文献

Cigarette smoking, CYP1A1 MspI and GSTM1 genotypes, and colorectal adenomas   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Cigarette smoking has been related to increased risk of colorectal adenomas, but the underlying mechanisms are unknown. Genetic polymorphisms are known for enzymes involved in the activation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and other tobacco-related carcinogens. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are activated by cytochrome P4501A1 (CYP1A1) and detoxified by glutathione S-transferases. We investigated the relation of CYP1A1 MspI and GSTM1 genotypes to the risk of colorectal adenomas with special reference to interaction with cigarette smoking among 205 cases of colorectal adenomas and 220 controls with normal total colonoscopy in a male Japanese population. Cigarette smoking was strongly associated with increased risk of colorectal adenomas. Overall, neither the CYP1A1 MspI genotype nor the GSTM1 genotype was related to colorectal adenomas. A significant trend for increased risk of colorectal adenomas associated with smoking was observed for each of the CYP1A1 MspI genotypes, and the increasing trends did not differ by MspI genotype. The positive association between smoking and colorectal adenomas did not vary much with GSTM1 genotypes. Among former and current smokers, adenoma risk did not differ according to the combination of CYP1A1 MspI and GSTM1 genotypes. CYP1A1 MspI and GSTM1 genotypes do not seem to modify the risk of colorectal adenomas associated with cigarette smoking.  相似文献

A homozygous mutation at bp 677 in the gene for the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) was previously shown to be associated with a decreased risk of colorectal cancer. We examined the relation between the MTHFR genetic polymorphism and risk of colorectal adenoma in Japanese men using 205 cases of colorectal adenomas and 220 controls of normal total colonoscopy. The homozygous mutation was not measurably associated with colorectal adenomas. The findings corroborate the lack of an association between the MTHFR genotype and colorectal adenomas, but do not deny the possibility that the genotype may be involved in the late stage of colorectal carcinogenesis.  相似文献
