Teaching evidence based practice and research through blended learning to undergraduate midwifery students from a practice based perspective

The international world of higher education is changing with universities now offering students flexible delivery options that allow them to study away from campus and at a time convenient to them. Some students prefer on line learning while others prefer face to face contact offered through a traditional lecture and tutorial delivery modes. The response by many universities is to offer a blend of both. While online and blended mode of delivery may be suitable for some subjects there is little knowledge of the efficacy of blended learning models to teach evidence based practice and research (EBPR) to undergraduate midwifery students. EBPR is a challenging, threshold level subject upon which deeper knowledge and skills are built. This paper describes the design, delivery, and evaluation of an undergraduate EBPR course delivered in blended mode to first year midwifery students. Components of the blended learning innovation included: novel teaching strategies, engaging practical activities, role play, and e-learning strategies to maintain engagement. University-based course evaluation outcomes revealed very positive scores and the course was rated within the top ten percent of all courses offered within the Health Group at the host University.     

Undergraduate nursing education reform in France: from vocational to academic programmes

International Nursing Review Background: France is currently implementing a number of reforms to the healthcare and education systems. Within this context, a comprehensive reform of undergraduate nurse education was launched in 2009, bringing nurse education closer to the higher education environment. It is likely in future to move from being vocational towards becoming an academic educational programme. Aim: In this paper, the 2009 reform of the French pre‐registration nursing curriculum will be analysed in light of the European framework. Process: The pedagogical approach, methods and content of nursing education in France are undergoing an in‐depth reorganization. The main innovation that the reforms introduce is a competency‐based approach. France is joining the group of countries that require first degree‐level entry to the nursing profession. Conclusion: There are still many unanswered questions regarding the competencies and qualifications required by both the academic and clinical educators many of whom have not been previously involved in research or publications. The future status of nursing science is unclear, as is the way in which the nursing profession will be able to retain control over its educational mechanisms.

Diseñando una encuesta para residentes de formación sanitaria especializada sobre la satisfacción con la docencia. Experiencia en la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco (2009-2018)

In Spain, the evaluation of internal resident's satisfaction with the training they receive is legally mandatory for autonomous regions. Beyond this obligation, the evaluation of training leads to its improvement. However, an effective evaluation procedure requires a series of steps that should not be overlooked. Throughout the text, we will give a series of clues that will help those responsible for training, at different levels, to start up a procedure of this type. We will talk about technical requirements for the construction of an effective questionnaire, the most appropriate way to apply the survey in the field of training residents, the importance of statistically validating the questionnaire in order to obtain usable conclusions, and the dissemination of results, from the review of the process itself. Finally, as an example, we will bring up the survey of residents of specialized health training in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country from 2009 to 2018.

基于晶闸管导通角控制的脉宽调制旋转阳极控制技术的设计与实验

针对X线检查大型医疗设备整机价格昂贵、维保费用高、生命周期短、场地要求严苛等问题,研究一种能够应用于教学示教及技能培训、故障演练测试的教学器具,结合旋转阳极电路的基本功能要素,涵盖高压启动、低压维持、延时保护、运转检测等基本流程,结果表明,该装置能够准确地演练实际工作环境,起到培育医疗设备维修人员检修旋转阳极时所需要的实际技能的作用,降低了实际教学成本,满足了工位数需求,增加了实践动手训练机会,提升了技能培训效果。     

《护理管理学》课程素材类教学资源建设及应用

教学资源建设是教育信息化的基础,也是高等教育中的重要内容.《护理管理学》作为护理专业的核心课程之一,在提高学生利用管理学理论知识来解决临床实际问题上占有重要位置[1],但关于护理管理课程的素材类教学资源建设在国内却鲜有报道.近几年来,我院护理管理教研组收集制作了有关护理管理的文本、图片、视频、试题、文献资料等各类素材类教学资源,并应用于护理管理课程教学中,取得满意的教学效果,报告如下.     

Educational research methods for researching innovations in teaching,learning and assessment: The nursing lecturer as researcher

The author, who has had previous experience as a nurse researcher, has been engaged in helping nurse lecturers to undertake evaluation research studies into innovations in their teaching, learning and assessment methods. In order to undertake this work successfully, it was important to move from thinking like a nurse researcher to thinking like an educational researcher and developing the role of the nursing lecturer as researcher of their teaching.This article explores the difference between evaluation and evaluation research and argues for the need to use educational research methods when undertaking evaluation research into innovations in teaching, learning and assessment. A new model for educational evaluation research is presented together with two case examples of the model in use. The model has been tested on over 30 research studies into innovations in teaching, learning and assessment over the past 8 years.     

实施野战护理学“自主-互动”教学模式的效果分析

目的 探索野战护理学“自主-互动”教学模式的实施效果.方法 通过野战护理理论考试、操作考核、网上论坛、知识技能竞赛及问卷调查等方式,检验野战护理学“自主-互动”教学模式的效果.结果 在489名学员中,野战护理学理论与技术考试80～89分者为249名,90分以上者为112名；问卷调查显示,学员对该模式的满意率为100％.结论 野战护理学“自主-互动”教学模式深受学员好评,取得了良好的教学效果,值得推广应用.
