Endoscopic observation of pathophysiology of ventricular diverticulum

Background Although there have been reports dealing with ventricular diverticulum (VD) analyzed by cisternography and computed tomography (CT), those focusing on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or neuroendoscopic findings are rare. Case report We present a case of noncommunicating hydrocephalus caused by aqueductal stenosis with cystic lesion located in supracerebellar region. Third ventriculostomy was performed on this case. The conventional CT and MRI were compatible with usual VD, but neuroendoscopic examination suggested otherwise. The endoscopic view inside of the cystic lesion demonstrated passing veins and no membrane. We diagnosed this cystic lesion as a unique subtype of advanced VD mimicking spontaneous ventriculostomy. Endoscopic observation of the cyst was very useful for accurate diagnosis and safe treatment.     

Cerebral venous malformation complicated by spontaneous thrombosis

A case of spontaneous thrombosis and infarction leading to death as complications of a cerebral venous malformation in a 13-yearold boy is reported. This is the first published report of this type of complication occurring in a case of venous angioma. While the biologic behavior of cerebral venous malformations has suggested that they are benign in nature, and the results of surgical management have encouraged a conservative approach, the present case illustrates a potential complication and argues against the assumption that these malformations are completely benign in nature.     

Failure to detect an antimutator phenotype following disruption of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae DDR48 gene

The antimutator phenotype, reportedly conferred by disruption of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae DDR48 gene, was suggested to affect only a specific spontaneous mutational pathway. We attempted to identify the types of mutation that are DDR48-dependent by determining the specificity of the ddr48 antimutator. However, disruption of DDR48 did not decrease the rates of spontaneous forward mutation in a plasmid-borne copy of the yeast SUP4-o gene, the reversion or suppression of the lys2–1 allele, or forward mutation at the CAN1 locus. Interestingly, the latter gene had been reported previously to be subject to the antimutator effect. DNA sequence analysis of spontaneous SUP4-o mutations arising in DDR48 and ddr48 backgrounds provided no evidence for a reduction in the rates of individual mutational classes. Thus, we were unable to verify that disruption of DDR48 causes an antimutator phenotype.     

应用小鼠在Y形迷宫中的自主选择能力测定急性及慢性东莨菪碱与吗啡对记忆的影响

应用Ｙ型迷宫研究了急性与慢性东莨菪碱和吗啡对小鼠记忆能力的影响。单剂量东莨菪碱（１ｍｇ／ｋｇｉｐ）和吗啡（１０ｍｇ／ｋｇｉｐ）均能显著损害小鼠的短时记忆（ｗｏｒｋｉｎｇｍｅｍｏｒｙ）。重复给药后东莨菪碱的这种作用很快消失。但吗啡每天一次，连续３次给药这种作用加强，连续５次给药这种作用反而减弱。东莨菪碱不能损害小鼠长时记忆（ｒｅｆｅｒｅｎｃｅｍｅｍｏｒｙ），而吗啡对长时记忆有损害作用。结果还提示小鼠短时记忆不受自发活动能力的影响。     

Ballistocardiogram of avian eggs determined by an electromagnetic induction coil

As an avian embryo grows within a eggshell, the whole egg is moved by embryonic activity and also by the embryonic heartbeat. A technical interest in detecting minute biological movements has prompted the development of techniques and systems to measure the cardiogenic ballistic movement of the egg or ballistocardiogram. (BCG). In this context, there is interest in using an electromagnetic induction coil (solenoid) as another simple sensor to measure the BCG and examining its possibility for BCG measurement. A small permanent magnet is attached tightly to the surface of an incubated egg, and then the egg with the magnet is placed in a solenoid. Preliminary model analysis is made to design a setup of the egg, magnet and solenoid coupling system. Then, simultaneous measurement with a laser displacement measuring system, developed previously, is made for chicken eggs, indicating that the solenoid detects the minute cardiogenic ballistic movements and that the BCG determined is a measure of the velocity of egg movements.     

下蹲运动与高眼压关系及其动态观察

观察１８例３２眼下蹲运动与高眼压的关系，分为下蹲１２０次，１００次及８０次三且，每组分别观察１０眼、１１眼及１１眼，结果各组运动后眼压均见下降，平均为１．０２７±０．４８６ｋＰａ，１．３５５±０．７７０ｋＰａ及１．３２５±０．４２２ｋＰａ，运动前后有非常显著性差异，但各组之间差异不显著。同时观察３小时内眼压动态变化，下蹲１２０次组眼压下降维持时间最长，在运动后３小时与运动前眼压比较及与其余两组第３     

免疫反应在实验性游离型腰椎间盘突出自然吸收中的意义

目的：通过检测CD3和IgG在实验性游离型腰椎间盘突出自然吸收中的表达，探讨腰椎间盘突出后能否自然吸收及其可能的吸收机制。方法：将25只成年狗平均分成5组，从L2/3切取髓核组织，置于L5处的硬脊膜外，于术后2，4，6，8，12周，取动物标本以及正常部位的髓核组织，用CD3抗体和抗IgG进行免疫组化检测。结果：约30%的标本局部为脂肪组织，54%的标本局部硬脊膜与骨粘连，16%的标本既无粘连也无脂肪，免疫组化测定显示，随着时间的推移，CD3^ 细胞的浸润程度呈递减趋势，而IgG沉积的分布程度呈递增趋势，正常髓核无CD3^ 细胞浸润，IgG沉积分布极少。结论：在椎管内，狗游离的髓核组织8-12周后可部分或全部自然吸收，其吸收机制是机体自身免疫反应的结果。     

自发性高血压大鼠内皮素A型受体基因的表达

应用反转录－聚合酶链式反应（ｒｅｖｅｒｓｅｔｒａｎｓｃｒｉｐｔｉｏｎ－ｐｏｌｙｍｅｒａｓｅｃｈａｉｎｒｅａｃｔｉｏｎ，ＲＴ－ＰＣＲ）方法，测定大鼠ＥＴ－Ａ型受体（ｅｎｄｏｔｈｅｌｉｎＡｒｅｃｅｐｔｏｒＥＴＡ－Ｒ）ｍＲＮＡ在体内的分布，证明ＥＴＡ－ＲｍＲＮＡ不仅存在于血管平滑肌细胞，亦存在于内皮细胞中；而且广泛分布于脑、心、肾、肺等组织内。首次发现，在ＳＨＲ大鼠的脑、心、肾组织中，ＥＴＡ－ＲｍＲＮＡ水平明显升高，提示ＥＴＡ－Ｒ基因表达增加，亦可能是高血压发病的一个重要因素。     

自发性颈动脉海绵窦瘘的介入治疗

目的 探讨自发性颈动脉海绵窦瘘的诊治方法。方法 9例单纯颈内动脉供血,其中6例采取球囊瘘内闭塞术,3例采用瘘口一同闭塞的颈内动脉闭塞术。11例采用微导管超选择性插管,行瘘的供血动脉及瘘口栓塞。栓塞后7例仍有供血者3例经压颈1个月瘘口消失,2例疗效不满意,患者未再来治疗,2例采取经岩下窦途径和经眼静脉途径。1例单纯由颈内动脉脑膜支供血的行γ刀治疗。结果 13例栓塞后造影瘘口完全闭塞,7例栓塞后造影瘘口有显影,术后采取压迫患侧颈总动脉1个月,半年后3例造影瘘口消失,2例疗效不满意,失去随访,2例经眼静脉、岩下窦栓塞海绵窦取得成功。γ刀治疗1例,症状消失。19例随访6个月未见瘘口再通。结论 介入栓塞是治疗自发性颈动脉海绵窦瘘行之有效的方法。
