Understanding inverse oxygenation responses during motor imagery: a functional near-infrared spectroscopy study

Motor imagery (MI) is described as the mental rehearsal of voluntary movements. We used wireless functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) recorded over secondary motor areas during performance of MI and motor execution (ME) in 11 healthy subjects, who either executed or imagined two drawing tasks differing in shape and frequency, i.e. simple (circle, 0.2 Hz) and complex (curved shape, 0.333 Hz). At the group level, results showed that fNIRS is capable of discriminating between the task mode, i.e. MI vs. ME, and the task complexity, i.e. simple vs. complex. At the single-subject level, we observed inverse oxygenation responses, i.e. a decrease in Δ[O(2) Hb] and/or increase in Δ[HHb]. These inverse responses only occurred during MI tasks and were highly correlated, in the first place, with task mode, and secondly with task complexity. Inverse Δ[O(2) Hb] responses are likely to reflect individual differences in performance-related signals and may contribute to the commonly observed inter-subject variability in fNIRS measurements. As MI is now widely used as a mental task in neurorehabilitative applications, the resulting oxygenation pattern may be of use for future developments. For this programme to be successful it is crucial to determine the sources of inter-subject variability. Our study presents a first effort in this direction, indicating that MI-related inverse Δ[O(2) Hb] responses are correlated, first, with task mode and, secondly, with task complexity.

为适应医学学科发展,更好地发挥医学分类主题一体化知识组织工具在医学文献组织与利用方面的作用,基于1992年编制出版的《中国图书馆图书分类法(R类)与医学主题词表(MeSH)中医药学主题词表对应表》(以下简称:《医学对应表》),初步建立计算机化、可持续发展的医学分类主题一体化系统,实现《医学对应表》的动态更新与及时发布。     

Considerations in establishing an oral disease clinical research center

Oral Diseases (2010) 16 , 586–591 High quality clinical research is necessary to improve oral health and translate research findings to the practice of dentistry. This has led many academic institutions to consider establishing a formal clinical research center. This is not a trivial undertaking and requires that the center have an appropriate physical infrastructure, trained investigators with recognized expertise in the planning and conduct of high quality clinical research, and very importantly, a financial plan to assure its long‐term sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to provide some guidance and practical advice with respect to factors that should be considered in developing and maintaining a successful oral disease clinical research center.     

Relationship (or its lack) between population and a water and sanitation service: a study of users' perception in Vitoria (ES) Brazil

The objective of this paper is to identify and analyse the perception of groups of dwellers of Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, regarding their relationship with the water and sanitation service and aspects of water handling. Participants living in four distinct urban districts of the capital city were interviewed in their own houses and the Discourse of the Collective Subject approach was employed to order the data so obtained. The testimonies revealed the health risk to which individuals were exposed by virtue of: (i) inadequate knowledge concerning the water supply offered, (ii) lack of stimulus to exert their citizens' rights and obligations in relation to the water provided for their consumption and (iii) poor channels of communication between the community, the water and sanitation service and the local public health authority. The study concluded that there is a need to rethink the forms of information provided to the population that are presently adopted by these institutions.     

国家自然科学基金人类营养学项目资助分析

目的了解国家自然基金（National Natural Science Foundation of China,NSFC）人类营养项目资助情况,为合理制定科学基金资助政策提供依据,为人类营养研究领域的科技工作者申报选题提供借鉴。方法用exce12003和SPSS软件对2001—2010年国家自然基金人类营养项目进行统计分析。结果2001—2010年期间,国家自然基金资助人类营养项目253项,资助经费6440．3万元,其中资助脂肪、维生素和微量元素等营养索的研究项目124项,资助酚类、花青素等非营养素的研究项目104项。结论人类营养研究在选题方面应侧重于营养素和非营养素对慢性疾病的作用及其分子机制研究。

改革开放30年来,中国特色公共财政制度框架建设取得显著成绩,卫生财政制度框架是公共财政制度框架建设与深化医药卫生体制改革的重要组成部分。本文首次简要描述中国特色卫生财政制度框架范围内容,勾勒卫生财政制度框架的总体图画与基本特征。基本结论是,国家承担全体公民健康照顾的主体责任,基本医疗卫生服务是＂准公共产品＂。卫生财政制度框架范围广泛,内容多样,最基础、最关键和最困难的是医疗财政制度建设。
